Dont think West is falling apart- Florence thier 2 guard broke his arm in a game recently- seems the team has been doing a great job at keeping things going. Dont know many teams that would recover from losing such a statistical leader- none of your top 4 I think could handle losing thier best player??

 

Secondly West losing to East is nothing to be ashamed of- if you have ever been to one of those games you would understand! Throw the records out. I think West having won 15-16 games this year already and district 1 seed they have over achieved after losing a player of the year and other starters.

 

As far as the #5 team?? West is ranked 5 in the polls but I think the 12th have some teams playing well right now and some not playing well....Region is wide open.

The district champs draw to play the distric runner-up.

It's a draw. District champions draw first and get placed in the 1,3,5,7 spots of the brackets. District runners-up draw second and can only draw into the opposite bracket. For example, if McCreary Central wins their district and draws into spot 1, Wayne County as runner-up could only go into the 6 or 8 spot. A mock bracket setup is below. Bottom line, district rivals can't meet until the regional championship game.

Good points...with the exception of Southwestern/Lincoln. I think the Patriots will handle the Warriors with ease. While Southwestern is playing better, they still have only won one game since the calendar flipped to 2008.

 

I think you're right about the 46th District being the weakest. It might be the most competitive, but I don't think anyone expects Burgin to advance. In my mind, the 47th (Somerset, Casey, Pulaski, Rockcastle) might be the most competitive because I think any of the four teams could legitimately win that district.

Agreed with the 47th district being the most competitive. I think if you look at 48th, it's McCreary, then Wayne, then Monticello/Southwestern.

There are no pre-set games in the tournament. Everything is drawn. The only two things that can't happen are (1) district winners play each other in the first round and (2) district opponents meet before the finals.

Lincolns region to lose. Lincoln will come out on top again IMO.

If Mercer is at full strenght, which they will be by the weekend, they are a definite contender. as for gchs_uk9, what that guy was telling you is correct.
