I don't see why not. I thought this game was called fair both ways. There was no way the shot should have been counted. The whistle blew before he released the ball. That was a no-brainer.

I agree, great game to watch. Both teams will be better due to being involved with it regardless of the outcome. Foul was way before the act of shooting for young Strange. It was a heck of a shot at any rate. Good luck both teams the rest of the way.

Strange hit a great shot, however, Cashen fouled him before the attempt. It was a great call by he official despite the hostile environment. Corbin controlled the game throughout. If it weren't for a couple of bad decisions by the Redhounds (unforced turnovers) the shot wouldn't have even mattered. What is lost in the hoopla here is that Corbin handled Pineville from start to finish tonight. Pineville showed that they are a great team as well, by keeping the pressure on and making the comeback.

Strange may be the best guard in the 13th. Does anyone have any stats from this game?

Corbin had a foul to give, so they fouled Strange before he got to mid court, he then took another dribble and a step and then shot the ball, pretty easy call to make actually...................wouldn't get that even in the NBA.

Man that was a quick game, only 15 fouls called the entire game, 8 on Corbin and 7 on Pineville. Corbin got some good play from several different kids, but sometimes the sub pattern confuses me, which doesn't take a lot.

:thumb: not like its rocket science ya say! :fire:

I kept waiting for the Hounds to put this one away, but Pineville just hung in and almost won it at the end. Strange is a very good coach and Strange Jr. is a heckuva player. Corbin should have put this away earlier. They play silly at times.

I'm really proud of Pineville. I saw these kids when they were sophomores and knew they were special. It would be great if they can make it to Rupp. Just great for small schools and basketball in general. Sounds like this was a great game to watch.

I agree .. very quick game. That's why I'm confused a bit. I thought the refs let both teams play.

Most high school teams make mistakes. These kids are not professionals and one should not expect them to do the right thing 100 percent of the time. I for one would be happy to not play the best you are capable of and still be 19-6 on the season with narrow wins over Jackson, Pineville.....etc....hey these kids have shown me some toughness and if Josh Crawford starts asserting himself like his is capable, I look for the Hounds to step it up a notch in the next few weeks. I think this was shown by Wilson making a bad decision late in the game but then seconds later making a big steal on what looked like a sure fire lay up for Pineville....Cashen was MVP. I think these Hounds have the Heart and that will sometimes take the place of silly mistakes.

Not really a very physical game either. Corbin shot 4 FT's and Pineville 9 if I remember correctly. The only real complaint I think either team would have on the officiating would be that Strange gets away with a lot of offensive fouls with his off arm before going up with his jumpshot, he's a heck of a player though.

Yeah, the call was correct but I think some around the area believes Corbin gets way too many calls at home. This perception probably leads to a lot of the frustration that was evidenced from the Pineville fans after the game. Personally, I have never seen any great bias in Corbin's favor at home. I know some will disagree, but I think for the most part that is a fallacy. Now, Clay County in Manchester during the Keith years, and even after, was a travesty of basketball justice.

Wilson made one heck of a play on that steal after his turnover, that kid is a battler. Josh Crawford just does not seem comfortable at times, or maybe just doesn't have his confidence back yet.......but he will get there.
