February 7, 200818 yr Boyd is a great recruit for the cats. Got the College and NFL style body. Runs about about a 4.6 forty, which is fast for a WR his size. He is just what UK needed with Burton and Johnson graduating. He'll start as a true freshman from day 1, and catch 60-70 per season. I think he has the potential to make it to the NFL, and have a very good career there. Don't think he's definately going to start from the get go. Aaron has some serious things he needs to work on, to be a solid SEC WR.....he has unlimited potential, but needs to work dilligently to realize said potential.
February 7, 200818 yr Channel 36's reporter ask Boyd's uncle what I thought was a very good question. Did you ask him why he would go to Oregon and play on Rich Brooks field when he could go to UK and play for Rich Brooks, his uncle laughed and said yes I did ask that question. Seems funny to me the only two people who thought he'd be better of at Oregon are UL fans. Did you think a UK fan would think he would be better elsewhere. I assume you've never met the young man. Having done so, I think being away from Lexington, and where his brother played, would have been much better for him. I still stand by that, until we see otherwise.
February 7, 200818 yr It's a slow day and I just need to yank somebody's chain, but it's not like Shane left a big shadow he has to play under. You're right I've never met the kid, but I don't see how being 2,500 miles from home would benefit him unless there's family issues that would hold him back here. While UK does have QB issues to work through Brooks has things headed in the right direction and signing the states best prospect only makes things better.

Most Freshmen do, but I'm curious to know what those things are. I can see what you are saying about Boyd getting away from Lexington, and if he were playing QB I think it could be pretty bad. I think with him being at WR, it wont be nearly as bad.

He also has to work on his release, and those hands, man oh man, he has a HUGE case of the drops. Most of the stuff is coachable. What's between the ears, he has to get over. If he does that, he can be a superstar. I don't think it's fair to Steve or Keenan to compare him to them just yet.

It is the intangibles he has to work on.
