Their student section is always like that. I just wish we had a student section that would be aggressive in a way.

Some thoughts on the game:

 

1. The Russell staff is not professional. Ticket takers treated an older woman from Ashland poorly. I was embarassed for the school system. Concession stand worker spoke badly toward a student (don't know where they were from).

 

2. Ashland adults are classy. I have never known Ashland adults to be rude or mistreat the competition (even if they are losing). Thanks!

 

3. I have no idea how Ashalnd kids grow up to be the respectful adults that they do....their student section is obnoxious...but that's ok. It makes games fun!

 

4. Gosh it got aggressive in the 4th!

 

5. It felt good to beat Ashand.

You must not have been at the same game I was! Russell staff did an excellent job ! When the fans got a little out of hand Russell staff was the first one to quiet them! And no -that was not Mrs.Amos (from Russell)that you handed your ticket to !!:devil:

OK OK, my bad. It may not have been Russell staff taking the tickets. The concession stand was manned by Russell staff wasn't it?

 

I was just raised to NEVER treat people as though they were beneath you. I can assure you that I witnessed two instances where that happend. No matter who the culprit was, the acts were inexcusable.

 

I agree that it was great of Russell to allow Ashland to play there. I'm sure they prospered from it too though (and you can't blame them for that).

 

Also, if I remember correctly I praised Ashland adults for CONSISTENTLY beign the most mature adults in the 16th region.

 

I regret that the game wasn't played at Anderson. Ashland always treats us well.

Was it the same parent of one of the players who always embarrasses himself and the school and his kid at every game. He threw a fit one year at Russell because he couldn't walk in front of the stage while the game was going on to the concession stand.

How do you know he embarrasses the School and his kid and himself? I bet you have never spoken to him before in your life. He has more fun at these games then anyone else does. He cares alot for every player on the team and if he thinks they are getting a raw deal he will let somebody know about it.:sssh:

I guess one could call it embarassing if they were trying to be politically correct and conform themselves to a High society standard. Well i'm not!

I am certain I am the one being talked about. You see I stood up and did a little dance and pointed at the scoreboard in response to one of the Ashland student sections chant's. They(Ashland's student section) seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, as did the dozen or so people who called me late last night to tell me I made the news. OH!! by the way several of the ballplayers called too and told me they really appreciated the support as "most of the Elliott fans are too quite and too laid back". I am a kid at heart and probably will be until my own kid's graduate high school. I fully support them in all their activities and even get down on their level(which isn't too hard for me) and play video games with them, take em fishing, hunting, shopping,etc and sometimes just simply goof off in public with them. It must be pretty good medicine, they all three have over 3.5 gpa's and have never been in the principal's office in trouble. I definately am not embarassed by dancing a little

jig or screaming and cheering for my child's team, but I am embarassed sometimes that some of the other kid's parent's on both side's do not show any passion or support for their child or the sport! Guess everyone has their own way of looking at thing's. GO ELLIOTT!!!!!

You should really get your facts straight before being critical of one school and heaping praise upon another.
