I don't think Hazard and Rose Hill should be that high. Scott county should be #4. Madison Central should be in the top 20 also.

Cov. Cath is not top 20 in the state. :confused:

Its amazing to look at these ranking and see all the teams that are in the upper bracket in the Sweet 16 draw.

Good to see Cov. Cath and Holmes up on that list. Good NKY teams right there.

Holmes is 21-1. A legitimate threat to cut down the nets in Rupp. In this thread, nobody has the Dawgs lower than 4th in the state. Less than 3 weeks ago, on Holmes' home court, with Cov. Cath's best guard out with a broken wrist (who has since returned), the Colonels had the Bulldogs down 11 in the 4th quarter. It took a dramatic run for the Bulldogs to take the Colonels to overtime (once there the Dawgs took care of business). Cov. Cath. beat Lex. Cath., smoked Elliott County and had Mason County down in the

3rd quarter. Perhaps 7th is a bit of a stretch but it wouldn't be hard to argue that Cov. Cath falls somewhere in the 10-20 range.

IMO some of these teams that are getting higher rankings haven't really played anyone. A couple don't even have top 20 wins (although one or two close games). I wouldn't give them too much credit untill it was earned. Plus winning by 15-20 against half-decent teams isn't going to cut it come tourny time.

I agree with Flotsam. His point is very true. Yes Cov Cath lost 3 region games in a row and blew a big lead at Scott Co. Those games were played without the #1 PG (senior) who no doubt helped the colonels. When Bondick is on the floor is seems like the game has much more control. And for the 3 region losses the first one was the day after the funeral of a lost member of CCH's family and as mentioned before they took Holmes to OT without there senior PG. I think they will show people what kind of team they are come the region and the Colonels will be representing the 9th at Rupp!

Actually in the fourth quarter Holmes came back and led by 4, but 3 straight missed free throws allowed Covcath to take Holmes to OT. Holmes had the game won in regulation but couldn't seal the deal at the line.

 

Don't get me wrong though, Covcath is definetly a top 20 team and with Bondick back, it will make them a bit more legit come tourney time.
