February 2, 200818 yr Ron Paul is a republican in the truest since of the word. I respect that greatly. I would vote for him if I were a registered Republican. He is more republican than any of the others. Considering what the party has become, I wouldn't go that far. I still like the Republican party, but IMO the evangelical right has taken over the party and sometimes I'm ashamed to be registered Republican. Small government, fiscal responsibility, and low taxes are what drew me to the Republican party. I disagree on most other issues and most issues I actually disagree with both main parties. In fact if KY had open primaries I would be registered Libertarian. I'm voting for Paul in May, but in November I'll have to vote for someone who can actually win. Plus his stance on the war really turns me off about him. Sorry, but the thought of Hillary as President won't allow me to vote any other way. Though, I hope Paul stays on the primary ballots until the end and gets people thinking of other options besides the big two.
February 2, 200818 yr There are more Ron Paul for President signs in my neigborhood(middle classs, elderly[above 50 with 7 exceptions], and I am the only minority for 2 miles) than all other candidates combined. My Provgressive political mind actually has a lot of respect for Ron Paul.
February 2, 200818 yr If he sticks it out until May, I'll have no problem pulling the lever for him. My biggest gripe with him is with his gold standard, as I prefer a floating exchange rate. I'll give him my support.
