MCHSindians08 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Where was this game played? Did Corbin play its JV team, or what happened?
U Reach I Teach Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 This is a misprint right? I thought Corbin was supposed to win the region this year.... Isn't South Laurel down?
LOVETHOSERHOUNDS Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Corbin is still sitting in todays biology class....Hounds its gametime! Struggling right now to say the least!!
Jim Schue Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 At Corbin? What in the heck happened? Is Crawford still hurt?
Jim Schue Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 This is a misprint right? I thought Corbin was supposed to win the region this year.... Isn't South Laurel down? They're down compared to recent years. But even last year's SL team couldn't do this to what was probably a worse Corbin team than this year's. I'm scratching my head too.
WILDMAN Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Corbin was erratic and took some horrible shots. South was on fire. Crawford still wasnt 100 percent and him or Manns didnt get the touches that they should. However St. John didn't play that much due to foul trouble either. I also noticed the Gilbert kid in street clothes. I'm sure Corbin probably was a little cocky but fact is, South was the better team tonight and that's what counts. Hats off to them.

That information makes this win, and margin thereof, especially shocking. Coach P wouldn't dream of sandbagging to get his team focused after a pair of closer-than-would've-liked wins over Wayne and Jackson, would he?

South Laurel just played harder, smarter and were much more physical than Corbin tonight. The Watkins kid for South was the best player on the floor ...........don't know where he came from, but he can play. It was the worst performance I have seen out of Corbin in years..............you have to give the credit to South though. If they don't play better Thursday, Whitley will knock them off as well.
LOVETHOSERHOUNDS Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I listened and my ears are still sore from the sounds of the game..
WILDMAN Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Nah, I don't think Coach P dug into the Lou Holtz bag of tricks. It'd make you think but I think this game was contributed to a mess of things. In no particular order, South was embarassed and Coach Wright instilled Pride into the kids, Corbin probably was over confident from the last game, corbin took bad shots, made bad passes, didnt have the good shots falling, and South was on fire. It's just the way it goes. Win some..lose some.

LOVETHOSERHOUNDS Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Im ready for the next game ....put this one way way behind! Go HOUNDS!
Deuce41 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 All I can say is WOW!!!!! I thought it would be a close game but Corbin would come away with the win especially at Corbin. Knute Rockne always said "I play my best 11, not my 11 best!!!" Sometimes on a team as talanted as Corbin it is tought for even the best coach to identify the best 5 out of all that talant. Sometimes talant can be out-weighed by teamwork, and that is the toughest thing to get no matter how much talant you have. With that being said there is no doubt Corbin will recover nicely and still more than likely be there at or near the end of the region tourny.
