Does new manager mean anything or is it the same old Reds'?

I think bringing dusty in was a bad move. The reds need a manager who is going to push guys and motivate the team(like a pinella who the reds passed up). From what i have heard dusty is a players manager so i dont think he will help the reds.

Yeah is that why he hit 38 hr's in 06?

1 hr ever 20 at bats last year

1 hr every 14 the previous 2.

Glaus has driven in more than 100 runs once in the past five seasons. He has not hit better than .262 since 2000 and not to mention the HUGE drop he will be in the field.

Dunn's not the problem. Its Dunn and Griffey in the same OF. What's that movie? Oh yeah, slow and slower.

That's funny! I like both of them but I think the Reds will be better off when they are both gone and that money is better spent. I wish them both well but the lack of speed and strikeouts wear me out!

Nice stuff, but keep in mind he was playing with the d-backs and the Blue Jays. Now he is batting behind Pujols in St. Louis facing weak NL Central ptiching.

There are many reasons why the Reds haven't had a winning season in almost 10 years and haven't been to the playoffs in 15 years.

Goodness knows I have nothing better to do and win or lose, I will be watching them everyday.

We are that pathetic aren't we. :sssh::laugh: I'll probably be right there as well. We ae going to have to work on some new "material" this season as well :p, some of the conversation / analogy of the fabulous "Little Red Wagon" are entertaining.

Dusty Baker and some new young arms will make a big difference.:thumb:

How long will it be before those "new young arms" go on the DL and have constant arm/shoulder problems under Baker? Can we say......M. Prior and K. Woods ? :sssh:

I'm not sure how good they will be, but I know that the fans can't complain about the ownership this year if things don't go well. Or at least I know I won't. They picked up a very good closer, they overpaid for him and gave him an extra year, but at least they're showing they're ready to win. They picked up Dunn's option which had to be done if they were going to contend. They kept Krivsky and added Jocketty. And finally they brought in a big named manager that some people may not like, but at least he should have their respect the second he walks into the clubhouse. Again, this may not translate into making the playoffs, but ownership has convinced me they care enough for me to buy another 20 game pack.

The fact that their bullpen SHOULD be a lot better should make all of the difference in the world. Not to mention that if Griffey does get hurt his replacement is ready.
