January 20, 200818 yr With everyone they are losing, I would expect them to run the same style of offense, but possibly with a little more option if Pulley is the QB. I would like them run that and the Rodriguez offense. This is just my opinion.
January 20, 200818 yr I really don't think anybody knows until they step on the field next year. Their defense should be as good as it's been in awhile. They have some experience on the oline. They will have Lyons, Pulley/Hartline and a nice stable of RB's but they have A LOT of skill guys to replace. People expect a letdown with all the offensive guys leaving and that is very realistic. Anytime you have a good defense and can run the ball you put yourself in every game so it should be interesting.
January 21, 200818 yr I look at it like who do you have returning not who you lost and UK returns a ton of talent on offense. Gary Williams,Zipp Duncan,Christian Johnson,Jorge Gonzalez,James Alexander,Justin Jefferies all have started in the OL return,TC Drake and Mo Grintner & Chris Goode at TE, Pulley at QB, Tony Dixon, Alfonzo Smith,Derek Locke, Athony Allen at RB, John Conner at FB, Dickey Lyons, Demoreo Ford,Kyrus Lanxter at WR is a lot to build on not to mention the redshirts,greyshirts & frosh who will contribute. They will be more than good this year. The key is the OL which will be a the strength of the team.
January 21, 200818 yr They won't be near the same offense as they were the last 2 seasons. Pulley will give them a more athletic look at QB, and Lyons and Ford should both do good at WR...

Potentially (and I stress the potentially), UK could be as good or even better than last season. While we had an amazing offense last year, we did have weaknesses. We struggled mightily against teams that had good defensive ends, and could put pressure on Woodson with a four man rush. Woodson lacked mobility and would often hold the ball far to long. The number of sacks taken by him was really unacceptable and cost the Cats dearly. Many great drives ended in Woodson sacks. --- This weakness should be a strength next season. The offensive line comes back almost fully intact. Another year under their belts should only make them better. They have a stable of quality running backs with Locke, Dixon, Allen, and Jackson, and they should have a great ground game. Pulley is very mobile, and will be extremely elusive. His mobility will allow Joker to expand an already exciting playbook that much farther. Pulley can turn negatives (pressure), into positives (scrambling). The questions that will ultimately determine the success of the offense will be the passing game. While everyone knows of Pulley's mobility, there are questions about is accuracy. At reciever and tight end, it is impossible to replace the trio of Johnson, Burton, and Tamme. These three were studs at their positions, and there will be a drop-off. The key will be how much of a drop-off. Maurice Grinter is making the move to tight-end. He is a great athlete, with great size and hands for a tight-end. Does this translate into a quality player? We will see. Wide Reciever has even bigger questions. Lyons is the only proven returning player. Ford has made a couple of plays, but he is slow and undersized. We will need a couple of young players to step-up or we could have a huge hole at the reciever position.--- If we can have a couple players emerge at receiver, and Pulley can be an accurate passer, it is conceivable that UK could be as good, or even better on offense than last year. These are huge "ifs", but are all possibilities. Even if they don't, I expect UK to be solid on offense with their ground game alone. Add a strong passing game.... Look-out.
