Mason Co 74 Lexington Catholic 73

It's just scary to think that 3 of the top 5 teams in the state: Lex Cath, Bryan Station and Scott Co and only one of those goes to Rupp. Unbelievable.

The 11th region tourny may be more exciting than the Sweet 16 this year.

I glad I aint the only one that this happened to.....

Anything can help the cats.

LC got a break when MC called a Time Out and the offical said he steped out of bounds with 20 seconds left up by 2. I thought there were alot of Blown calls but hey the 2 top teams in the Commonwealth going down to the wire what more do you want. I also think it says alot about Mason to be able to play with LC when Miller struggled for mainly 3 quarters . A very nice win for MC, who knows Maybe the 10th and 11th will square off in the First round of the sweet 16???? Guess we will have to wait till FEB.1

I sure hope not!:creepy::eek::scared:.

But it sure would be a dandy.

I'd say there are several teams that would have a say about that.

I'm a huge Royal fan and I have to agree with that. You could take the top 5 and make an argument why any one of them should be #1. BUT that's what makes Kentucky High School basketball so great.

Right, cuz everyone's pretty much beaten everybody at least once. I think it's up in the air who's number one, and we'll just have to wait til March to really find out what everyone's really made of. Tournament time is when everyone is playin' their best ball.

Where are the Miller bashers now? Sayin last weekend that the popcorn was better then the game! When it was crunch time Miller stepped up and put the team on his back. You give the ball to your leader at the end of the game. The game MC lost to Catholic Miller took and 3 and this time he drove in for the sweet J. Great game for T Setty too. The Seniors stepped up. Great Dunk for the LC player.

Question how in the world do you give the timeout sign to the ref and its right beside your bench and then the ref after you ask for the TO calls you for being out of bounds. What a joke.

That "foul" on Keith Downing for the three point play wasn't even a foul!

But WOW what a game.... glad to finally see Darius take over the game, even if we had to wait til the 4th quarter for him to do it. He stepped it up though and showed us all what he is made of.

The exact thing I've been waiting to see from Miller as well. What a ballgame!

They got outplayed the whole game but as I said Mason made the most clutch plays down the stretch to pull out the W. I dont think Mason played as good as they are capable of tonight.

Ok... I was just unsure of what you meant. I agree with you though, made the plays when needed and didn't play their best game.

Miller had a very sub-par game all the way until halfway through the fourth, seemed as if he was forcing some shots. But then he took over when the Royals needed him the most and made the big plays down the stretch the pull out the W.

And that's what the big players do, they are there when their team needs them. Yes, Darius struggled at the beginning, but his play in the 4th quarter proved that he can handle the big-game situations. That shot at the buzzer was a big-time shot made by a big-time player.

This one was a dandy in the Bluegrass. Refs weren't the best in the world, but didn't affect the outcome of this game. The players left it all out on the floor. Congrats to the Royals on the win and a good game to Lex. Cath. What a math-up come March if these to could compete for the State Championship. 11th is stacked and a tough raod for the Knights to Rupp. I am a big Royal fan, but I will be cheering for the Knights in the 11th, because I love the rivalry these two teams have become to each and it always plays out to be a good game every time they play, and everything is left out on the court the way it should be.

LC got a few calls to go their way late in the game after MC picked up the pace.

I think LC got lucky to pull back ahead by a point.

I agree totally. The sideline call late and the and 1 were very poor calls if you watched the replay. Good job Mason overcoming the questionable breaks and winning.

I posted after game with Scott Co. that Royals were not mentally tough. Tonight there were mentally tough, players made plays when they had to, helped teammates and morst of all refused to get beat by a very, very good team. GREAT win for the Royals. Learn from this and just get better.

I got home from work just in time for the last 3 or 4 minutes. Sounds like I saw the best part of the game, well for UK fans atleast. Can't wait to see Darius in Lexington next year.
