Final from Carrollton!!! Penny leads the way with 21. 23-17 AC at the half. Carroll did not score again until 6:00 remained in the 4th quarter. Shots just were not falling. Carroll played great defense in the first half. Keep plugging Panthers.

Must have played great "D!" To see Anderson only to score around 50 must mean they played solid "D." Sounds like Carroll went ICE cold! Carroll has good talent. They'll be fine to bounce back!

Carroll's defense was swarming in the first half but they are not very deep and couldn't keep it up in the second half. You could really see it on the offensive end. Their legs were gone and most of their shots were coming up short. Anderson is good but not as good as I expected.

10-3 with a couple of 6 point losses to Henry Clay and Manuel seems pretty good to me. Their other loss was to a very good Bardstown team.

I'm not saying they aren't a good team. They are. But if they are the best the 8th has to offer then it's one and done in Rupp.

Best D game of the season for Carroll. Hit the boards pretty well against Anderson's size which they have plenty of. Somebody put a lid on the Carroll basket at halftime. Nothing fell in the third. Not really as bad as score indicates.

Glen Drury always has his teams play great team defense at Anderson. He may very well be the best coach in the 8th region and one the top in the state. They contest every shot and do not give up any easy baskets. They also are very physical and have excellent size. Defense and rebounding can take you a long way on those nights when shots are not falling.

Carroll was down by 5 at the half and playing well. The third quarter was the problem, shots just would not fall. AC is a very big team as well as deep and they play very hard.

 

I thought CC looked good overall and I think they will do well in the All A.!

Anderson is the only undefeated team in the region including a 7 point win at Shelby County. But, Shelby is getting the Top 20 rankings by Cantrall and LIT. Don't understand their computers sometimes. I know its based on strength schedule among other factors, but the computers throw common sense out the window. AC has region wins over Gallatin, Owen, Simon Kenton, Shelby, Oldham (twice), Eminence, and Shelby.

 

Losses were to decent teams in Bardstown, Henry Clay, and Manual.

Carroll had looks in the 3rd quarter but the ball wouldn't fall. A tribute to Anderson's defense as some of the shots were rushed.

Could the score have been close at halftime because Carroll was playing great D? I was at the game for the first three quarters and Carroll showed me alot in the first half. They hustled, were not intimidated, and held their own down in the paint. This team continues to impress me by how much they have improved. I think it might have been a great game if shots would have fallen for Carroll in the third. Yager and Cable could not hit shots outside and they usually have a couple trey's every game. Hendrick could not get any looks in the paint but continued to battle. Coach David Miller has this Carroll Co. team moving in the right direction. Looking at the Class "A" bracket for the 8th Region, do not be surprised if the Panthers advance to the championship and pull the upset to go to Richmond.
