Pikeville would be getting a steal if this is fact. Has anyone else got any info on this?

Is that "Big Coach"? Did he coach at Murray State at one time?

 

I don't think so. I believe "Big Coach" would be Wes Salyer. Wes is Chad's older brother that has coached at a few 1-AA programs over the past 10+ years most recently being Middle Tennesse State and now Murray State.

 

Back to the search for a new coach. IMO Chad has the skills needed coach young men and a pride in the community that will keep him at Pikeville for sometime to come. That's not to say that other applicants might not have pride but I know that Chad would be in it for the long haul.

He also did a great job as a head coach at Garrard.

Has Bert Brown from Perry Central applied? I have heard rumors.

He would also be a good choice for the Job. Perry Central put a bunch of points up this season.

I look for this to be a local hire, or a coach with connections to Pikeville in the past.

Howell has already stated on another site that he has not and will not apply. The selection commitee met on thursday (1-31) Id say to trim the list down. I only know for absolute fact that Copley has applied but hes the only one I know of for sure. The president of the boosters told us that as of last weekend there were 15 applicants and Ive heard close to 30 names being thrown around on this and other sites. My mind hasnt and will not change. IMO the right hire for the future of our program right now is Copley.

The word on the street at Harlan hasnt made it Pikeville yet. That name is a new one I havent heard. Like I said before As of last weekend that there were 15 applicants and Id say the list has been trimmed considerably since then.
