gametime Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Is the greatest basketball conference in the history of man. No questions asked and no debate needed. Rah! Rah! Sis! Boom! blah, blah, blah... :sssh:
HammerTime Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Are you making fun of the SEC homers? :jump::jump:
gametime Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Are you making fun of the SEC homers? :jump::jump: Just stating the facts...
Latch Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I guess I'll bite. Is that the conference that has won the last 2 national champioships? B/c I heard the last two came from the same conference.
FairFan Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Awesome thread GT, you never cease to amaze me with your sarcasm.

Latch Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 So the SEC is only the best football conference when they win the title??? I was actually just kidding you, but didn't you think that comment was bound to come from someone? The Big East is tought to argue w/ in basketball right now top to bottom, but if we're just talking the top 2 or 3 teams I'm not sure I'm ready to give it to them.
Son of Bear Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Is the greatest basketball conference in the history of man. No questions asked and no debate needed. Rah! Rah! Sis! Boom! blah, blah, blah... :sssh: ...and I guess you'll be waiving a UofL flag and chanting "Go Big East" when they make it to the Final 4? :sssh: I agree 100% GT about the homers

The top two or three teams are just prone to the rigors of playing in such a tough conference. The night in and night out physicality, size and speed is too great to expect a record like teams from other conferences can pile up... :jump:
gametime Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 ...and I guess you'll be waiving a UofL flag and chanting "Go Big East" when they make it to the Final 4? :sssh: I don't mind UL at all. They have pretty much been a twin brother to UC through the conference changes and trying to get on a level playing field with the big boys. When it's UC/UL week, I'm not much of a fan...
gametime Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Awesome thread GT, you never cease to amaze me with your sarcasm. I'm a jerk at a high level...
FairFan Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I'm a jerk at a high level... You, nah...don't be so easy on yourself.

Obviously not. There are many factors, but if you put the SEC football champion in a one game winner takes all against whoever the computer decides is the best challenge they will fare pretty well. I'm not so sure the Big East schedule gets a team any more ready for a 6 game tourney than say Conference USA. You're not either that's why you like Memphis. The Big East is a beast but if you add 4 schools to the SEC, ACC, or 6 to the Pac 10 they would be just as strong.

strike-3 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I'm not sure this thread was meant to be serious, but if so I would give the nod to the ACC.
