If you consistently vote Democrat party, who do you want to win the Republican primary because it gives the Democrats the best chance to win the White House?

Remember this is for voters who normally cast Democrat votes and votes are public.

I just don't feel Huckabee is a strong candidate. I think he would fit nicely onto a ticket as a VP candidate, but at the top of the ticket he's too weak. He doesn't have a lot of major successes to point to and he doesn't really have that "wow" factor that will win over a lot of voters. I think Huckabee's surge into a win at Iowa was the pinnacle of his campaign and he's now on a decrescendo. For instance, Chuck Norris was humorous and novel when he first emerged. It was funny. Now that he is trotted out at every major event it seems to evince the fact that Huckabee doesn't know how to handle the top spot. I think the Democrats would coast right by him.

I don't think Huckabee has any appeal as the VP to win this election. It does nothing to make me want to vote for the Rep candidate and I am Huck's biggest supporter on here.

The only thing it would do is to give him more experience for a run in 2012.

I think you are overlooking the evangelical vote. Thompson is not going to be the candidate. I think the evangelicals have a wary look at Rudy G and Mitt. Although if Mitt was Christian and not Mormon, I think he walks with the nomination.

I don't think Mitt nor Rudy G (Rudy G would be the worse) will energize the Republican support.

None of them energize Republicans, which is how Huckabee emerged to begin with. Huckabee would be an excellent VP nominee as his Baptist minister credentials would shore up problems with Romney's Mormonism and Giuliani's perceived liberal social stances. For the record I don't believe he would serve as Romney's VP nominee nor do I think Giuliani has a chance of winning the nomination anyhow. At the top of the ticket Huckabee will have to dramatically tone back any Christian rhetoric. I think the power of the evangelical vote is largely overstated and Huckabee will be in no position to rally it, unless they vote for him in droves with little coaxing.

Mormons believe in salvation through Christ and I think Christians who claim that Romney is not a Christian and refuse to vote for him on that basis will be making a huge mistake.

I think that a Romney/Huckabee ticket would be a strong one. If Huckabee and his supporters continue to attack Romney's religion, he will not be able to broaden his appeal much beyond evangelicals.

Huckabee would represent the most change on the Republican side - so if a democrat is not going to win...I'd pick him.

I like McCain but I don't think he'll do anything about getting our troops home.

Romney and Guillani will be sitting ducks if they get elected.

I have invested intrest in seeing any one of them win....but for the sake of the country, and the change it so desperately needs - I would choose Huckabee.

Not sure where Huckabee has attacked Romney's religion.

Ok, I'll play, but there is still a lot of days left before this fall. I'll just say I hope I can find the best person that makes sense to me. I have never voted Republican for president, but would if I feel they are the right person. To answer your question I'd say Mitt, the Christian nation would stuggle with him.

His "innocent" question to an interviewer of whether Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers might be interpretted that way. I suspect that his question was aimed precisely to undermine Romney's support among conservative Christians.

Will they struggle with Romney's religion more than with candidates who claim to be "real" Christians and use the Bible as nothing more than a prop for photo-ops?

I have no clue. They all creep me the hell out.

Well that is a vote for Huckabee as in his previous job as an ordained baptist minister, that was what he was trying to do.:D;):p:jump::sssh::thumb::lol::lol:
