So that means in your alls eyes this years team is the same as last years team (which was a NCAA tournament team). So then why is this years team so bad? Keep in mind that last season Jodie Meeks and Derrick Jasper played in all 34 games--this season they missed a total of 17 games and they've only played together in 2 games. I'd also wager that neither player is completely back to 100% effectiveness then. Coury, Stewart, and Harris all average at least 4 points per game which replaces the 12 points that Woo, Perry and Thomas averaged last season, they also average 10 boards compared to 9 out of last season's group. Stewart and Harris have also missed 4 games apiece this season. Looking at that it is more likely that the health of the team has been the biggest difference in the results since what most people would consider our best 5 players have only played together twice all season and not once completely healthy. That's a much better reason than Bobby Perry not being back, he'd make little difference in this season's team. Meeks played in the Gardner Webb lost, and both Meeks and Jasper played in the San Diego lost. So in our two worst losses of the year, we pretty much did have our best players playing. You also just kind of support what I am saying even more. You say Coury, Steward and Harris pretty much even out for the lost of Woo, Perry and Thomas. But this year we are losing to teams probably not even ranked in the top 100 in the country. We have been making Gardner Webb, and Sad Diego look like top teams with great offenses. So there has to be something right for why this team is so much worst than last year, since say the talent level is about the same as last year. So by going by alot of what you all have said in this thread, you all really probably should be very unhappy with Billy G at the moment, because must be something to do with the coaching for why we are even worst this year, even though we have the same talent level as last year...

Again, Jasper didn't play against Gardner Webb and in the San Diego game Meeks was only able to play 12 minutes and Jasper 14. The team was noticably better with Jasper and Meeks in. Only 1 game all year has UK had Patterson, Jasper and Meeks and UK had probably their best game of the year with all 3 in there. The flip side of that is that with those 3 available Coury, Harris and Porter don't have to play as much--in the FIU game they all only played around 13 minutes apiece. There were no major injuries last season so Tubby had a full roster to work with. That's why you have to go through so much to "prove" a point--you're point isn't valid, the conditions have been much different this season compared to last season, namely the team's health.
