Some choose to believe he was a teacher. A good man. A leader but not Son of God. I don't believe Jesus gave us that option with his claims as Son of God.

Lao Tzu wrote a great book on how to live and he wrote it several hundred years before Christ was even born. His words are still significant on how to live our life.

Ever wonder why there are no historical documents short of the Bible that say anything about Christ's ressurection? I don't doubt that Jesus Christ, the man, lived on Earth two thousand years ago. I do not buy that he was anything past mere mortal.

I think your view is skewed because our American media doesn't want you to know that Christianity is popular and that revival is breaking out all over the world with hundreds of thousands finding Jesus. But you probably never will hear that on the news here in the US.

Aside from that, Christianity is growing. It is not, however, the fastest growing. Islam and Hindu are both major religions that are growing at larger numbers while even religions like Wicca are growing by larger percentages.

 

I don't know why you wanted to pull the media into this other than an attempt to dodge the point that I posed. The story of Jesus is not the only religious tale that is accepted by large numbers of people.

The Bible speaks of false prophets. It also mentions "wolves in sheep clothing" For every question you have, we have an answer, for every statement you bring forth, we have a light that glows. The problem here, Larry, is that I have no "desire" to accept Jesus. If you had "been reading", you'd know that I do not believe that Christ is the son of God or anything beyond mere mortal and also that if God is as described by Christianity - than I would not worship him anyway.

It would be a heck of a lot easier.

Fan...one thing we tell people is that if you believe there is Jesus you also have to believe there is Satan. Right now satan is rejoicing in your statement, we are taught to show you through our faith of the scriptures that Satan or death has no hold on us. Tell us, what if we are right, and you are wrong? What did we gain compared to you?

 

Now lets go the other way....What if you are right and we were wrong, what did we gain?

To answer your thought. Sin is the answer. Thats easy. In the old days man would bring sacrifices to God, but now days thats not needed. Whats the worse Sin a man can commit? Disbelief, its easy to get to heaven, but man makes the choice. Do you have children? What happens when they disobey?

 

 

God gives a chance to have eternal life in fellowship with him, we don't live for ever do we?...You are gonna die some day, just like two dogs I killed on the railroad last week. They are gone, never coming back. man, isn't an animal. But know this, you were created by your parents through a gift from God. Your parents chose to have you and loved you the moment they felt you in the womb.

 

I can tell your are a lot smarter that I am, do yourself a favor and keep researching and asking questions with the brain that is so wonderful and sustains us. How in the world did that brain come together? How do we breathe the air? Our heart stops beating for three minuets ? What happens?

You act as if God letting us know he is there makes us mindless robots. We have laws that I can CHOOSE to follow or not follow...but they dont hide, make no contact, and send out all instructions in a book and tell us to follow them.

 

Following the instructions of a book with no tangible evidence of the God it describes and trying to argue that there is any logic or common sense in that is truly on the lines of being "mindless".
