MCIT

Featured Replies

Brossart got a good draw.Bracken a team they should beat easily.:p
Very funny

The MCIT is the old Burley Belt Tournament. The teams that are in it are on an annual renewable basis. I think that it's a fallback tournament in the event that Mason County might (God Forbid!) have a down year.

There have been some years that have been better than others. Brossart won the tournament back to back in 1998 and 1999 - Willie Schlarman's first two years.

This year it might be what Chris O'Hearn needs to "showcase" some of the other guys on the team who have been sitting and watching Miller, Setty, and Middleton and Co. play prime time all year, especially in Hawaii and probably in the 5th/3rd.

I guess "better" is in the eyes of the beholder.:D

Let's see, Mason County's home schedule this year includes CovCath, Scott County, Henry Clay, Clark County, Elliott County and Bryan Station. Hawaii tourney away, 5/3 (or whatever it's called this year), Bryan Station, Tates Creek, Atlanta Centennial, LexCath, Madison Central, Montgomery County are also on the away side of this year's schedule. I don't think that Mason County has to apologize for hosting a tournament comprised of 10th Region teams. Could they host another tournament or "beef up" the MCIT? I guess so, but is it necessary to have to run the gauntlet every single game you play?

It also gives some of the 10th region teams a few extra games in the Fieldhouse prior to the regional tournament.

I'm going to wisn the Indians the very best with the 10th they have a awesome gym its very nice. But I'm going on record right here right now and saying this will be there 1st and last 10th region tourney to host mark it down.Again i wish them the best.

I will go on record too and say this won't be their 1st and last at hosting the 10th.

Sorry mhighfield the days of Mason hosting the 10th every year is over. It will be rotated as it should be between The Fieldhouse, Montgomery and the New arena on the NKU campus. Write it down!

Why would you say this? We all know that there will be areas that need working on...it is their first time. You can't compare Mason Co hosting it for 30 years to their 1st. I also feel that no matter how great a job Montgomery Co does at hosting the region....there will be several that will complain about something.

Hope someone will give updates of the tourney.

Honestly Goldie i dont think the place will hold the people and that will be the differnce more than Montgomery not being good host as im sure they will do fine there.:thumb:The place was packed last year for the girls Championship.

I do understand that seating could be a problem. Other regions have this same situtation and still roate the site.Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Do you expect a big crowd for the MCIT?

No, there won't be anything approaching a capacity crowd at the MCIT.

I've gone on record as saying that other teams ought to have a shot at hosting if they have a venue that will handle it. I think that mhighfield and I got a little worried last year when the Montgomery County facility (which is a nice facility) was close to capacity at the girl's regional final. Look for at least 1,500 more to try to attend the boy's final; especially if it's Clark or Montgomery against Mason.
