Ugly game. Hard to watch. I don't understand what Russell's offense is designed to do. But that's why I am not on the sideline. And for that, I'm thankful. Worst game of the 3 last night. Hopefully today will be better.

Ask Duck or one of the other friends (or coaches) on the bench...................I will say it again. Hard to play without recruits and compete. The Russell program is in bad shape and many will begin to jump ship. Parents and student body are ready to jump now. I hate that for the senior bunch of kids. Congats to Raceland on running a nice tourney. I hope to bring my husband down tonight.

^ JMO but I would hope that the Russell fans and student body would stick by thier team. I cannot stand bandwagon" jumping. I think that the true Russell fans will stick by them.

I know one thing and that is there is not a coach anywhere that deliberately wants to go out and lose a basketball game and there is not a kid that wants to lose. They are trying to win and kids work thier butts off in practice. Win or lose imo the kids deserve respect.

These kids hear all of this talk going around and read these boards no matter how much someone tells them not to pay attention to them. My question to some is how would some of the comments flying around make you feel if you were a player on a team and were trying your best to win. Imo it wouldn't make them feel very good.

This thing called High School Sports is supposed to be about the KIDS, hopefully we all can keep it that way.

Agree. But I don't think that anyone was disrespecting the kids. Sometimes W's and L's are a sidebar to what can be a great season. In a forum like this one however, you're going to be judged by them. I commend the kids at Russell. Hope they have some success today!

Russell has a solid staff and some young kids. They will be back. At a small school, especially one that is more football oriented, you can't be district kings year after year. Sometimes the kids just aren't there for a couple of years. I think Dodd will be fielding a better team as the year goes on and they get more experience. I look for Russell to be back in the Regional title hunt in a couple of years.

:thumb: I agree, I was just saying that a High School kid may take things that they read and "read things into it" that was not really meant towards them. I was not at the games but I did hear that there were some very derogatory comments coming from the Russell fans and student section toward the Russell coaches and team. Really, imo if someone is running a coach down around kids then it affects the kids in negative way as well.
