I'm not arguing that whatsoever. The SEC has undoubtedly established themselves as the top football conference. That being said, it gets VERY old when so many people think that there are no teams outside the SEC that could be successful. That idea is simply incorrect.

Temple is not on the 2008 schedule and Kentucky is still trying to find a replacement game. The MAC said it would help put another team on the UK schedule but so far they have not.

 

I would like to see WKU take that game!

As far as Kentucky scheduling USC, they don't need to when they play the conference schedule they have. Kentucky has played the last two National Champions, losing 26-7 in Gainesville in 2006 and losing 45-37 to them in Lexington. Oh, yea, they beat this year's NC in 3 OT's. They played Florida alot better than Ohio St. and beat LSU, which then in turned overpowered the Buckeyes for the NC. Nobody needs to say anything negative about Kentucky's schedule.

I look forward to the day I get to read about Kentucky's upcoming schedule without having to wade through countless Ohio State posts.

Does Kentucky ever play, USC?? Because if so I want to know. The Buck's have them next year, and the year after. Oh, and that's a OOC game :thumb:

 

What are you talking about? UK had one of the toughest schedules last year according to computers and that will continue to be the case this year.

Anyone saying no team outside the SEC can be successful is crazy. I would hope everyone realizes that last year the SEC was a great conference but the PAC 10 wasn't far behind. And of course other teams can be successful.

So stick to playing weak OOC teams, and don't get any better or ready for the tough SEC?

 

There are maybe five teams in the nation that play more than one high quality out of conference team.

Who was the dominant team in the Pac 10? I think that gap between SEC and Pac 10 was a little farther thean you think. IMO.

To say that a team like tOSU would go 6-6 in ANY conference is a little absurd IMO. Yes, they were beat soundly by Florida and LSU. Those are the two best teams in the SEC, BY FAR, IMO. Maybe if they played both of those teams 4 times a year, they'd go 6-6. But they'd play the Ole Miss', the Arkansas', the UK's (most years), the MSU's... We've seen the talent they've brought in over the past decade, and if they were in the SEC, they'd be stealing "SEC" athletes from other schools in the conference. Could they go 6-6 once? Sure...It definitely would not be norm.

And IMO, they would have beaten all three of those teams last year...6-6 is ridiculous. I think you made a statement that is a little far-fetched....

I admit it was, but still i guess man my point was that in a stronger SEC confrence thier succes lvel would have been lower than what it was this year. But IMO they wouldn't have beaten Tenn.

Saying their success level would have been less than it was would have been a respectable statement. Saying they would go 6-6 isn't. :thumb:
