By the way, I hated this hire because I am a UK fan foremost then an all around SEC fan, I root for all the teams, I have my favorites when they play each other but I still root for the whole league, however, I now am limited to just 11 of the teams in the league.
December 18, 200718 yr He is a good X and O coach, but now he has to get the X's and O's to commit on faith that may not be there for a while yet. The kids do want to play for pay, but are weary of trying to make it under MULTIPLE coaches and philosophies.
December 19, 200718 yr Author It was a CB from Sugar Land, TX who decommitted and then chose BC. On the other hand, a qb who had offers from LSU, Bama, Kansas, Mizzou, and Tulsa decommitted from Tulsa and committed to Arkansas because of Petrino. The previous staff did not offer the kid because he's likely to be a high draft pick in the upcoming MLB draft. Petrino, not shockingly, said "no problem." It will work both ways. I hope that it works out for the kid's sake and certainly not quitrino's". I have my doubts though. A person can only go on a mans reputation ....what he says and what he does. Petrino's case it is two complete opposite things.

I am huge Ohio State football fan and a fan of U.K., Georgia and Bama football as well. I am glad to see someone else can say that they root for more than one team. That sems to be a rare trait on here . I can root for all the SEC teams at times except Tennessee, LSU (as long as Miles is there) and now Arkansas.
December 19, 200718 yr I saw the story and I'm glad to see it and I hope it happens more often when coaches do stuff like this. I understand recruiting reasons and starting to get your system in place. BUT why couldn't he have held a press conference and said that he will devote 24/7 of his time to the job AFTER the last 3 games of the Atlanta season. You would have people upset, but at least you give the Atlanta players the respect they deserve and you show the Arkansas kids you aren't going to say one thing and do another 24 hours later.
