Whoa nelly. A solid player who doesn't take bad shots. Being 5'9" can not create a shot, but few in high school basketball truly can. If left open and set a very good shooter. Dressed for Varsity last year and saw some limited action.

Connor took Butler from NCH in the lane off the dribble for 2, later in the game pump fake hit a 3!!! Has had poeple in his face ever since he hit the a few at Holy Cross! He'll be tough to stop especially with Geisler in the middle now. Not sure what he last year, actually who cares?

Kudos to the Breds for knocking off NCH !!! That is a huge win for the Breds and definitely shouldhave gotten more pub.

 

But from what I hear, the Breds are soft and have the tendency to get pushed around a bit. Did NCH have any size or were they runnng and gunning? How will the Breds compare against teams like CCH/Dixie/Holmes/ in the 9th Region? I know the Geislers are big boys but do they truly have anyone else or do they simply rely on Conner's 3pt shooting and Pangallo's penetration and dishing.

Very, very few outside players in high school can truly create their own shot off the dribble. And there have not been many in NKY in recent years. Almost all good three point shooters are the result of ball movement and inside/out passing. That's not a slam at the level of high school play but with the defenses played and the lack of a shot clock, teams rely on ball movement to create a three point opportunity or an open look inside. No teams really "allow" players to try and create shots mainly because few players can and it doesn't fit well with the concept of protecting the ball and a high percentage shot.

Good points. If a kid can pull up off the dribble and knock it down, it is truly a gift. Unless your a one man team, you dont see too much of this anymore. The best shooter off the dribble I ever saw was Scott Draud. He could knock em down from anywhere with guys in his face.

I saw the game and the Breds looked pretty 100% better from the physical side of the game compared to the Highlands game. Geisler, Beiting, Olberding battled hard. Pangallo, Connor, Lipscomb hld their own without getting knocked off the ball. The soph. Meyer play hard but gets pushed around alot but will get better with time. NCH had good size and strength and a ton of athletism but NCC insiders held their own. Beiting fouled out playing very aggressive! GREAT JOB NCC!!!! :dancingpa

Big win for the Breds!! The Geisler kid is a brut. They have alot of talent and are very well coached. Mango should get out there and show them some moves!! (lol) IMO they should be as good as anyone in the Regionals. Good Luck!

That would be a lack of motivational gesture. The kid is a player and can shoot. Why try to take his confidence from him. That is bad coaching to do to a shooter.

Now it looks like the player is making the coach look good, if that is possible.

NCC has an all-around better team than last year. Much better shooting team and can easily go 8 deap. If Dustin Giesler plays like I know he can, it will give them the inside game to go along with their outside shooting.

And if I was a varsity player and my coach gave me a JV uniform, I would say I'd need to pick it up in practice and prove I didn't need to be playing JV. Which is the reason he was given it in the first place. FACT.
