Clark County 65 Madison Central 64 (OT)

Scott Humphrey is one of the better coaches in Kentucky. How some novices can critique aspects of the game and make suggestions begs me to ask the famous question "What credentials do you have as a coach?"

Humphrey is top-notch...like many have said before, respected by many at every part of the state.

Big win for the Cardinals. With or without Simpson and Morris, Madison Central is one of the toughest, hard-nosed teams in the state - and they have one of the rowdiest cheering sections too. It's a statement game any way you slice it. Congrats to GRC - representing the 10th region and the 40th district well!

Friday is going to be awesome!

Nice win for the cards anyone have any stats?

STATS

CLARK CO--Stenzel 22, Hatton 10, Miller 9, Williams 7, Rogers 6, Dini 5, Purvis 4, Bennett 2---65

MADISON C.- Parks 35, Clay 17, Mays 5, Rhodes 3, Ford 3, Jenkins 1.--64

Good win for the young Cards. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but even without Morris they are a senior dominated team. That is what I was told this summer.

Morris is their main player. Also w/o Simpson it hurts MC.

I agree on both statements.

Suprised that Tatum Lewis did not score. I know he fouled out during the 3rd quarter.

Congrats to the Cards,Keep improving and making the 10th proud guys.:thumb:

Wow, surprised Bennett only had 2 and they won.

Thanks mhighfield.:thumb: We will take our knocks this year....actually I felt this game would be one of them, as did many other posters from teh prediction thread.

Did Adam Herald play for MC? I hear that he is an awesome Sophomore.

Congratulations to GRC, big win no matter who is playing or not. Trust me Gold Sunrise knows what I mean. LCA lost to Dunbar last night as they are still without their starting center and therefore missing the rock in the middle until mid-January, but no one is feeling sorry for LCA, and the team as a whole has to win it as a unit. Therefore, even without Morris, GRC had to beat a good team that has great coaching. Take nothing away from GRC, it was a big time win.

He went out around the end of the 3rd with a bloody nose....did not return till 1 minute to go in OT. Also we had Lewis and Dini on the bench that had fouled out. Corry Rogers stepped up huge last night late in the game and had 6 points . We had players that stepped up when we needed them. I agree...very impressive win.

Yes I do know what you mean. It was a great win for the Cards and the coaching staff...great game plan.:thumb:

IMO Madison Central is perennially overrated.

Anyone have any stats?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but were they overrated two years ago when they won the 11th region against Scott Co?

I agree that this is an upset, even without Morris and Simpson, but I disagree with the perennially overrated part.

Miller delivers for Cards

by Keith Taylor/Sun Sports Editor

RICHMOND - It was a thriller in December, complete with a cliffhanger.

The George Rogers Clark High School boys' basketball team staved off a furious comeback by host Madison Central as Marc Miller's 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime sent the Cardinals to an exciting 65-64 triumph over the Indians Tuesday night.

Trailing 64-62 with 2.7 seconds remaining, the Cardinals (2-2) scored the game-winner when Miller launched a trey following a length-of-the-court sequence of events that involved luck and execution.

"They just hit one of those shots, and it happens sometimes in those situations," Central coach Allen Feldhaus said. "He hit a shot with a hand in his face, he's fading away and he banks it in. What can you say? We've won some like that, too."

We can't forget Ryan Williams who got the lay-up with :06 left to send it in to overtime.

Great win Cards! Keep pressing and playing hard. Got a tough one this Friday.
