Anyone who underestimates Coach Whitaker is in for a rude beating in their game.

He will outcoach, strategywise, many in the 10th region.

When did Scott Co. join the 10 region???? and you say you are a 10th region FAN

A little harsh, it was one of his first posts. However funny:D

No disrespect to the defending champs in LCA, but I may have seen the two best teams in the state play each other tonight at Bryan Station in Dunbar and Mont. Co. Dunbar won 51-50 in OT. M.C. led by as many as 14 or so but didn't make free throws that ended up costing them the game. Dunbar took the lead late in OT and held on as M.C. couldn't get a good last look at the basket. IMO, until Mason Co. plays the types of teams that M.C. has played this year with the same type of success, it may even be premature to put Mason Co. in the same class as Mont. Co.

It will be hard for anyone in the Region to matchup with Mont. Co. at each position. They have the most complimentary parts of any team in the Region and that is not even a debate. You can argue who is the best overall player between Chambers and Prewitt but you can't compare the two teams at this time until Mason Co. posts a quality win. Mont. Co. is 2-1 against 3 legit top 20 teams in the state and led each one convincingly at some point in the ballgame.

That's all I'm gonna say about that but in order to be consider the best you have to play and compete with the best, Clark and Paris have done a better job of proving that at this point in the season then has Mason. I wouldn't be surprised if someone put Clark down as their number 2 team in the region, they just have to learn how to win the big one.

You may be right but its not like Mason Co has just got by these teams. They have won by a large margin over this 4-0 start.

Mason Co will have bigger and better games coming up, so we will see. But there still is ALOT of time left.

As they should.

The Lady Royals have the Lex Cath Holiday Tourny coming up as well as the Three State Schools Challenge. Where they will face Michigan City, IN and North Canton Hoover, OH. They are also in the Shooting for a Cure Classic as well as the Kenton Co Classic. So they have alot of better teams coming up.

You are correct, a lot of things can happen between now and March.

I would put Calvery, Augusta, and Deming somewhere on the list. JMO If im not mistaken there are 16 teams in the 10th region. I would think 10-16 could switch by the week through out the season ,all of these teams a pretty close and either could beat the other on any given night.

What does a team like Bracken County have to do to climb back into the top 8? They were considered by many as a preseason top 5 or 6.

I was at the game as well and it was a good one. It looked for a little as Montgomery had it wrapped up, then Dunbar really turned up their defense and Montgomery seemed like they got a little tentative and played not to lose. If Mc would have continued to attack the basket they would have won. However they also should have hit ft's down the stretch (9-19 the whole game)

The game had a great atmosphere, they were really going at it. I think Mc overall is the better team, it seemed like towards the end Dunbar wanted it just a little more. From what I have seen so far either of these teams could definitely come away with a state chamionship!

I would agree with that Mclegend. FT's and playing to hold on to the lead probably cost Montgomery Co. against Dunbar. I also agree with your assessment about these two being legitimate State Title contenders. LCA and Catholic both will have a tough time keeping them from the Sweet 16 but that is a brutal region. I'll most certainly be watching though as we get into February and March.:flame:
