December 7, 200718 yr Surprised that a coach would say that publicly about any player. Pitino always does that kind of stuff. I think he tries to use it almost as a motivation tool for everyone else to practice as hard as he does.
December 7, 200718 yr The issues Preston had in Highschool was he had no faith in his coach who after this season it will be obvious he was correct in his assesment. When you have a man with Pitino's obvious credintials it is not hard to buy into an idea and thrive in a program. Preston will be known far and wide by the time he is finished at Uof L. Mark it down. Get Some Knowledge. Coach Humphrey stepped into this kid's life and made a difference. From all I have heard about Scott Humphrey, he is a very good coach and an even better person.

December 8, 200718 yr Get Some Knowledge. Coach Humphrey stepped into this kid's life and made a difference. From all I have heard about Scott Humphrey, he is a very good coach and an even better person. Please, Humphrey didnt set this into motion Preston did a long time ago, when he decided he wanted to make himself better. He and Humphrey butted heads all year because he couldnt be the mentor Preston needed. There are a lot of people in Prestons life who I'm sure were positive for him I just don't think Humphrey was one in my opinion. As far as his coaching ability there are a lot of questions in my mind about who he picked to play and who he cuts. Besides shouldn't a coach have a team in the wings after a few years at one school? Even if they are young shouldn't you develop your up and comers after a few seasons? This is where Humphrey has failed at GRC IMO keeping people who don't contribute after four years. This thread is about Preston and he is definitely not a product of a highschool system that regularly turns out talent.
