The NCAA just ruled that due to BGP wishes, they are implementing an 8 team tourney to determine the real champ.

Who are the 8?

Vote for 8.

1. Ohio St. vs. 8. West Virginia

4. USC vs. 5. Georgia

3. Va. Tech vs. 6. Oklahoma

2. LSU vs. 7. Kansas

To be clear, you must pick 8.

My 8: LSU, UGA, Florida, USC, OK, VT, Ohio State, and I don't the last team I voted. I think it was UT. It may have been WVU.

In no order:

Oklahoma

Kansas

Mizzou

Good Lord, Homer! KU? One tough game? Ohio State even laughs at KU's schedule.

Homer? Since when am I a Kansas fan? Sorry, but schedule or no schedule a 1-loss team out of a BCS conference gets a bid to this Elite 8 IMHO.

Not a one-team loss that lost the only game they played against decent competition. They didn't even play the best teams in the conference other than Mizzou. Despite KU's 70 point explosion against NU, they showed nothing this year that makes you look at them as a legit team.

Posers.

If you wanted me to pick your 8 teams than you should have made that more clear in Post #1. I thought you were actually asking for other semi-intelligent sports' fans to offer their own opinions. My bad.

They didn't choose who to play in the South, they simply played the hand they were dealt. Their schedule was soft, no argument, but I think we've all seen that to get road wins within a BCS Conference, whether against a great team or not, it takes something.

You have your 8 and I have mine. Do I think Florida would beat Kansas...probably. However, the regular season has to mean something. Right?

I guess I should have said that all votes are subject to questioning.

Yes, the regular season absolutely means something and that's why KU sits home. I prefer to go with teams that tested themselves on a fairly regular basis. When you coast through the entire year playing no one and then finally play a strong team at the end of the season and get beat? Pass. Proven nothing.

Who do you think KU beats today amongst the teams in the poll?

You know me well enough to know that I don't get into arguing / debating hypotheticals. I never get into those "who would win if..." threads.

Again, I think the SEC is the best conference in America, and the Big 12 North was down this year (in terms of depth), but that isn't Kansas' fault.

I get it...you disagree. MHO is a 1-loss BCS Conference team gets an invite...oddly enough, those pesky folks who select the BCS games agrees with me. At the very least, I'm in semi-good company.

I went with the previous way the BCS teams were selected. All conference champs (LSU, tOSU, VT, OU, USC, WVU) and two at-large teams (UGA, Hawaii). My reason for selecting Hawaii, if you are undefeated, I think one should be autmatically be allowed in (that would of course come with scheduling stipulations in that you would have to play two BCS schools).

Easy there patting your back. They also said Hawaii gets one.

Tou-CHE, my brother!

I went with (in no particular order)...

LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Missouri, USC, Hawaii, VaTech

However, I overlooked West Virginia, so I would replace Mizzou with West Virginia.
