SouthernSportsFan Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 McCreary had this game in control nearly the entire time. The jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter at 22-9 and never looked back. At half, McCreary led by a score of 34-26. The score never got less than eight the entire second half and got to as many as 17. The Raiders looked very, very impressive.
hector Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 McCreary looked good tonight. They are a scrappy team that plays hard. #11 the point guard is a nice player. Watts is the real deal. I hope the kid that hurt his ankle will be ok. I got there late, what happened in pregame? I heard a couple of different stories.
notme Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Does the kid who got kicked out play lots? All I saw was a scuffle with some fans(students) and a McCreary player. I saw it after it was over. :fight:
jumpermom Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Maybe Anger Management classes might be in order for the McCreary Central team;)
SouthernSportsFan Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 During warmups, the PCHS student section was yelling things at Duncan, the player who got into the fight. After missing a few shots in the warmup, the fans kept yelling at Duncan, who got aggravated and started after the student, but was pulled away by teammates. Then, after missing another shot, the students kept yelling at Duncan who just went full-steem ahead into the crowd of 40+ and started a brawl between himself and nine or ten PCHS students. Duncan was escorted to the locker room where he remained until the team left. He was ejected from the game, and like any other ejection, he'll be forced to miss the next game. However, Duncan doesn't play significant minutes - atleast not last season.

SouthernSportsFan Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Let's all keep in mind Rule #4, with regards to this thread. I believe everything is still in-line.
STRIKE3 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I believe everything is still in-line.Agreed and just wanted to remind everyone, about the Rule as discussion on topics like this, can leave the path quickly....:thumb:
Riverside 157 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Anyone have the breakdown on scoring for McCreary?
SouthernSportsFan Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 With a player short and a two-point lead to start the game because of a technical foul called on Pulaski for dunking in pregame warmups, McCreary Central had no problems scoring against the Maroons with penetration drives and three-point bombs. McCreary shot 55 percent from three-point land, while Pulaski could only hit 23 percent of their 21 three-point attempts. “We definitely need to work some more on our defense,” Pulaski coach Mark Flynn said. “We let McCreary get way too much dribble penetration, we didn’t have good help on rotation and then we really got killed on the boards.” The Raiders scored 12 unanswered points late in the first quarter to extend their lead to 23-9. A Shawn Whitis three-pointer and a Chris Muse layup pulled the Maroons to within 9points to close out the first quarter at 23-14. McCreary spent most of the second quarter on the foul line as they widened their lead to 34-20. For the game, McCreary hit 20-of-26 free throws while Pulaski only hit 10-of-21 from the charity stripe. The undersized Raider's board dominance of 36 to Pulaski’s 22 was the gamebreaker, according to Flynn. “The story of the night was on the boards,” Flynn remarked. “McCreary pretty much manhandled us on the boards and they beat us to the long rebounds. We’ve got some work to do on our rebounding.” MC--23-11-14-14 — 62 PC--14-12-8-13 — 47 McCreary — Watts 22, Phillips 17, Musgrove 8 (Other scores weren't released by the Commonwealth Journal.) Pulaski — Whitis 16, Rowe 10, Muse 9, Dixon 5, Bray 3, Hart 3, Webb 1. From the Commonwealth-Journal, Somerset.

He may have a calling in WWF.
hector Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Thanks for the info. SSF. What is the word on the kid with the sprained ankle?
SouthernSportsFan Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Thanks for the info. SSF. What is the word on the kid with the sprained ankle? The kid is on crutches as of today. I'm not totally sure the extent of the injury, but I will find out shortly.
inmyopinion Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Did McCreary receive a technical for the ejection of the player?
