Congratulations and Good Luck once again Coach Lucas. After how things went this past sesaon this seems to be the obvious choice to restore some much needed stability to the Lloyd program. Alot of talent in the Jugg program and look for them to be working their way back near the top of NKY 2A.

I like Coach Lucas but I thought they should have started over with a new coach but thats my opinion and I do wish them the best.

I had the pleasure of seeing Roy quite regularly this summer and I'm glad he's decided to stay. Perhaps his tutelage under Yeagle will infuse him with what he needs to get that program over the top. I hope he gets a QUALITY defensive coordinator to fix what ails the program. Lloyd has always been able to score points but stopping their opponents from doing so has led to the teams downfall.

 

I realize that more than a few people would have like to see the program head in a different direction after this year but the die has been cast. Good luck Roy, I'm sure you'll do fine.

 

On a side note, if Yeagle is still in the school as a teacher I would not doubt for a minute that he will be heavily envolved in reshaping the program. Roy and Mike are good friends. Say what you want about him but Mike Yeagle is still the best coach in NKY and quite possibly the state bar none when he's healthy.

Probably a huge letdown for a number of coaches that thought they might be interested in this job. I think they would have gotten alot of interest from a number of qualified candidates and 1 or 2 that aren't so qualified but think they are.

I'm just hoping to see the Jugg program get back to that level of play that I remember watching for so many years. If the school officials think he's our man then lets get behind him with all of our support.

Coach Lucas is a very good man, very intelligent and caring. I honestly don't think he's holding the Juggs back from being good, it's just as much about the Jimmy's and Joe's in Erlanger. I remember when we were in the same AAA district as Lloyd, they had talent year in year out. They key in Erlanger is getting that talent on the gridiron, the area is landlocked so it's not like they are going to have numerous additions but when RL has had talent they've done well, just go back a few years back, they were contending for a state appearance. Things didn't get any easier with the addition of NCC, so it won't be easy but RL seems to want this job, just as much as he did when he left the job at SK. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, for goodness sakes, his uncle is Jerry Lucas, his father Roy Sr turned Newport around in a very short period, his brother is the offensive coordinator at Shelby Co. I felt for him since he stepped down to be the OC at Lloyd and then took over the helm after one game but apparently he wants to be in Erlanger, he could have just left after what happened with the whole coach Yeagle incident.
