November 28, 200718 yr ^^^Actually he loved the Cats and Lexington. Had a nice home, some horses and life long friends. Always spoke well of his stay in the Bluegrass.

While history is great, I like to think of recent history, or mainly what does today's youth mostly remember...Alabama is not a powerhouse in a high school kids' eyes.

Who do you pull for, in case you want to Bash Bama…I can't defend my school when I don't have a clue who they pull for Where did Newark go. I wasn't done with him. Bama gets off very easy on here....UK, UL, tO$U, UM, etc. they all get it way worse than Bama.

This is true. As far as today's youth are concerned only kids in 9th grade up were even born when Bama last won a title. Honestly most of Alabama's history was made over 30 years ago--they are like the UCLA of college football. Rich history but only modest results in this generation.

Bama fans love to live in the past and growing up in the 60s/70s spoiled me. The SEC has caught up with us and passed us also. Believe me there are worse Bama fans on my Bama sites than me. Losing to ULM is something that should never happen, but those things do happen. But on the other hand the past cannot be forgotten and once you win a championship its etched in stone and can never be taken away. Thats why they are called Championships. I agree with the last two posts.

I agree with the last two posts. They're still a very storied program but a lot of that history just hasn't resonated with today's kids. Having a coach like Saban will go a long way to getting the Tide the type of players that it will take to get them back among the elite.
