Desales 33 Prestonsburg 20 (2A)

Are you really going to let your Brown colored glasses really let you say something like that??? Prestonsburg was up the entire game. We were up 20-13 going into the 4th. And then put in cheap one with about a minute to go when the ball could have been downed...Pburg gave this game away tonight.

I was speaking of the 2 fumbles that happened in the first quarter which would have widened the margin in DeSales favor. I was not looking through "Brown" glasses but saw that DeSales gave Prestonsburg the ball both times in scoring position and knew this was exactly what did not need to happen in order for DeSales to win. DeSales overcame a deficit after the first half to prevail as champions do. They played disciplined football and executed the run game along with completing some crucial passes. Pburg did not give DeSales anything. DeSales earned the win, rightfully taking it from Pburg.

Colt, out of curiousity...had the shoe been on the other foot tonight and you'd been beaten down in the "mountains" by Prestonsburg would you like it if the P'burg fans and players started posting things about "taking the game from the Colts and sending the city boys back home to their big city in Louisville"? Or instead, as a senior who'd just played his last football game of his life, would rather read a post from your opponents that said something like..."We beat a good DeSales team tonight. They played hard and never gave up"?

Let me take this time to remind everyone about rule #2.

gish, since you were there, and Moose chose the "Turkey Bowl", and then getting his work done after that instead of before, and not making the trip, while my surgery on Tuesday along with this danged back, unfortunately(although I seriously contemplated going anyway, which would probably have led to my ripping a few stitches out during that 4th qtr.!), relegated me to the radio(anybody able to get the webcast from Q95?) and updates on here, I know you can provide an objective(as hard as it is, but you're one of a few who's able to do that) perspective, and hope you don't mind me putting you on the hot seat! But I understand DeSales had many more players than we did. Were they used? Were they able to limit some(or most?) of their players to only one side of the ball and, if so, did that contribute to the Cats lack of effectiveness(since our players have always had to play both ways) down the stretch which, ultimately, led to the uncharacteristic mistakes? And were you encouraged, or discouraged, by the performance of Burchett at QB, given the amount of time he's been at that position since the injury to Hughes a few weeks ago, as well as the underclassmen who return next year, since we'll see much the same scenario once again?

Good job, Colts. Two more wins will do it. Keep it up!

I know you're asking gish, but I want to add...

IMO, Burchett he wasn't given much of a chance last night. The offensive playcalling on our last two meaningful possessions left much to be desired.

Darn, I was really rooting for Prestonsburg. Hate to see such a class act go down.

Please... when referring to "mountain football" remember there is "mountain football" and "Prestonsburg football". There is some class among most of our mountain programs.

"our" mountain programs ?!?

Your team was thrashed at Prestonsburg more than 2 months ago. It's time to move on.

Bye-bye, this one is done.
