I was truely impressed, but not surprized, with Boyd County HC Lee Evans' remarks following his team's tough loss last Friday night. He very well could have went a totally different direction with his comments and everyone would have understood his complaint but instead he told the truth. I really admire that. Many coaches would have argued that no time remained on the clock whether they knew there was time left or not. Some would have fussed and cussed about the situation even if deep down they knew that there was time remaining on that clock. Coach Evans showed class and dignity with his actions and remarks following the game Friday. He's a great coach and I wish nothing but the best of luck in the future,

I thought the same thing when I read it. He sure seems like a classy guy!

The clock showed no time left on the clock after Greenup County spiked the ball, and Boyd County ran onto the field to celebrate.The officials put a second or two back on the clock, and Greenup County got one more play and threw a touchdown pass to win the ballgame. Coach Evans was quoted in the papers as saying that he had looked up at the clock and that the clock did indeed continue to run after Greenup County had spiked the ball. He said the officials had made the correct call. I've known Coach Evans for over 20 years. He is, and always has been a class act. I have nothing but respect for him, and wish him all the success in the world.

I second that!! As an assistant, I always knew he would be a HC oneday and I was so glad when I heard he had finally gotten his shot at Boyd County, although it was really weird seeing him in Lion Red. LOL!!! I have no doubt in my mind that he will turn Boyd County football program into a winning tradition.

Well, from the sounds of what has been posted from when I was last on here, he indeed showed some class by saying what he did. And for that, he is truely a winner in the game of life.

He is a classy guy by any standard of measurement IMO:ylsuper:

Lee is definetly a classy man and will have his hands full to get Boyd Co to where he wants them, and that is mainly because he has a high standard and drive. But that standard and drive is what it takes. I believe Lee will only get better as he gets some Head Coaching experience under his belt, but there definetly isnt a harder working Coach in KY then Lee Evans.

If you go by age...Gatlin Barker should have been coming back, but started school too early...Would have loved to see him back another year.
