Is UK recruiting Jackson?

 

Rivals has UK, Indiana, Louisville, and Xavier listed.

I saw a lot of good things from Rose Hill tonight. Tony Arthur handled the ball real well on the press. Michael Fuller played very tough and made a couple of nice drives to the basket. These are shots he wouldn't have taken last year. Mike Davis and Scott Gambill both got their firsrt starts today. They did look kind of apprehensive at times, but "Wait til our kids mature".

I also don't think Rose Hill should be ranked #1 in the 16th. But I will say Mason Co. would have their way with any team in the 16th, including Elliot. They are not only big they are also fast. They are a very good team.

For the most part Miller didn't score much in the first two and a half quarters. I was very impressed with his passing. I thought #24 was the best player on Mason's team tonight. Although Miller could have taken over the game anytime he wanted to.

When i left it was Halftime of the JV scrimmage and Mason was up 41-11.

 

This is surprising considering all those "middle school state championships" RH has won....

Classic. I was at the entire scrimmage. I wrote the scores on my checkbook because I figured that there'd be some different report of the score. The scoring per quarter for the first 4 were this:

 

1st Mason 24 RH 14

2nd RH 20 Mason 15

3rd Mason 25 RH 14

4th Mason 26 RH 21

 

I have no idea where 41-11 came from.

 

Darius was a man among boys and proved to me at least he's the best our state has to offer. Mason has a very tall lineup that shoots it very well and plays great pressure D. They are also very deep. I thought Euton was the best shooter on the floor hands down but Mason made it difficult to catch and shoot as the scrimmage rolled on. Jackson was the only answer for the Mason pressure and when he didn't have the ball, RH struggled with the press.

MHighfield, I apologize, you were speaking of the JV, not the varsity, I misread. You are correct, 41-11 was the JV score, we had 4 8th graders on the floor. Diffucult task as Mason is very deep. Great Gym! Good folks!

Setty didnt score as much as he can but he looked really nice passing, taking charges and doing the little thing. Darius was monster and the Mason role players did there job. Good showing today.

I was also there, very proud of the effort of RH. Mason is very well coached. Press was impressive with Miller on the point. Euton was soaked by the time I arrived at the end of the 1st. He shot it well. Jackson drove it to the basket with authority. I thought Arthur and Davis both played solid and Fuller scored at the rim as well. And all I can say for Mason is good grief they're good. Makes sense that they are preseason faves. They are solid throughout. #24, #33 both played well, and as for Miller,,,his dunk off of the rebound was simply stellar.

I for one am tired of hearing the same ol "Wait til our kids mature"from RH this year is the best they are going to get as far as role players go,The whole Elliott team lives for this an I only see that dedication from RH"s top 2 IMO

 

They have 2 seniors. I have a feeling you'll get tired alright. Good luck this season.

Mason Conuty will play Elliott County in early Feb. at the Fieldhouse, so we will see how they do.

No problem,I thought the JV lineup for the Hill looked young except 22 he was a nice player.Rose Hill will be in the mix in the 16th as 1 of the top 2 you can bank that.I haven't seen Elliott play to compare so i wont try.Mason is very deep,Tall and fast they will wear you down if you dont have numbers .Folks this was only a scrimmage both should get much better as the year goes on.I did believe both teams played very hard and left it on the floor which was impressive when you consider this game didn't even count.:thumb::thumb:

I got there after the first quarter, in which I heard Euton had 14 of his 25. Darius Miller looked great, even looked like he improved a lot from last year. Jackson really impressed me more than Euton. Jackson imo has more upside. Mason looked really good though.

2 different players IMO. Euton can score better IMO. Jackson has as good a handle as anyone I've watched.
