:lol: The guy/gal predicting Greenup by 2 TDs makes me laugh. Have you seen them play this year? Greenup may win by a couple of points, but it won't be 2 TDs. I'll say Boyd Co. by one point with them being at home.

They did win the at-large title in 1977, beating Boone County and Henry Clay, before knocking off Henderson County (13-12) in the championship. Trinity beat them in the overall final.

 

Unfortunately for Greenup County, those three wins signaled the only playoff wins in school history until last week's win over Rowan County. Included in those first round losses of past years were games against Rockcastle County (0-3), Highlands (0-2), Bell County (0-1) and Covington Catholic (0-1).

For what its worth, Boyd County was the Class AA runner-up in 1973, losing to Paducah Tilghman.

Aren't most of the things they have overcome (other than injuries) self-inflicted?? From the things I've read this season parents thinking they could run things better than the coach have been at the center of a lot of what they have "overcome". Maybe the team has learned the lessons the coaches were trying to teach in spite of the parents?

Again, Please, let's not do any more blaming, let's not play that game. Whether or not some parents try to "run" things, most parents are there for to support their child. Hopefully, the boys are there because they love football and they are proud of being a MUSKETEER. If I'm not mistaken a lot of the Blue Grass Preps are mostly parents and "involved" fans with their own opinion of how a team should be ran. I don't think GCHS holds the corner market on that. Hopefully, the team and coaches both learned something this year, I don't believe any of us are too old to learn something.

I would love to see GC win this game, but I have to give the edge to BC at home. These teams seem to be evenly matched. A bounce of the football either way will probably be the deciding factor in this one.
