This has got to be the most shocking score in the entire state right now (especially given that Saint X just cut it to 14-10 in their game).

 

This is big-time gut check time for HHS right now. Talk about losing all your season's momentum heading into the playoffs if the 'Birds lose this one.

Losing could be a wake-up call. Sometimes a team can get too complacent, especially at this level. I do, however, hope the Birds pull this one out.

Highlands has wore down most teams with its depth (two deep defensive line) and conditioning to dominate teams in the second half this year (see, for example, Lex Cath, Madison Central games). Guess that trend will be tested coming from behind tonight. Meaningless for playoffs but would be nice to preserve perfect season in tact going into playoffs.

 

Playoffs looking more interesting with very strong finishes by Dixie and Cov Cath. Of course, Highlands took care of business during the season so they only have to play one of them (the winner after they beat on each other next week) at home so they have positioned themselves well. Despite the trend in tonight's games I believe people should be careful not to read too much into one night of games. I suppose it will give a glimmer of hope to their competitors (and fodder for posting on BGP to keep that activity hot) but bottom line the 5A championship still runs through Ft. Thomas and will be very large task for someone to come into Birdstown and beat this Highlands team.

I hear what you are saying. But everyone knows HHS has been one dimensional this year with zero passing game and that really concerns me when you play certain team. Yeah you can beat the somebodys every week and it really doesnt matter because HHS eventually wins big and the philosphy is dont fix it if its not broke. But there have been a couple of games this year that it almost backfired and cost them. I agree a lost tonight is not the end of the world but maybe better yet its a huge wake up call. I guess we will see here soon.
