Jeepman Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 If Johnson Central Wins against Belfry in a close game should Belfry remain the number one team in 3-A or should Louisville Central take back the number one position? Or should Breathitt become number one? Johnson Central won their bout with Louisville Central. I personally think that Belfry should remain number one based on the amount of games that Louisville Central has lost. I realize these losses were against quality oponents.
AcesFull Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Louisville Central got blown out after a long bus ride to Paintsville. Belfry is hosting Johnson Central. If Belfry and Louisville Central are on the exact same level, I don't think anybody would expect JC to handle Belfry on the road as easily as they beat Louisville Central at home.
Pirate Pride Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Thus his question. What about a score like Belfry 21 Johnson Centra 28 ?
AcesFull Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Thus his question. What about a score like Belfry 21 Johnson Centra 28 ? What about it? If Belfry loses by a double-digit margin at home, then I doubt that the Pirates would hang on to the top ranking - assuming that Louisville Central does not get blown off the map at home by Highlands tomorrow night. If Central hangs tough with Highlands for a half or more, I would give the nod to Central because of its much tougher schedule.
Russelldad Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I believe that if Belfry loses to Johnson Central they will stay right where they are at. Unless Brethitt pulls off a huge win, and shows that they are at the caliber to beat Belfry. Then maybe Brethitt will move up to number 1. Although dont look over Ivan Mcglone and his squad, they came alive second half against Raceland and just from sitting in the stands I could see a team that might end up in the Ville.
locker#311 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 IF Belfry loses........... you can't go on should've, could've and almosts. Breathitt has ran their schedule at hand, and they are next in line. It's only fair to award them for their accomplishments. I think Breathitt is #1 until proven guilty. {of getting beat.} Sorry Russell doesn't figure into this scenario.
westsider Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 What has Breathitt done to earn a #1 ranking? They have only two wins, maybe three, that give them much credibility ... the rest of their schedule has been soft.

locker#311 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 What has Breathitt done to earn a #1 ranking? They have only two wins, maybe three, that give them much credibility ... the rest of their schedule has been soft. And they won all 3 of them.
westsider Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Has Breathitt beaten anyone the caliber of Corbin? That's the best win Belfry has on its resume, and I don't know if we could hold a loss to Johnson Central against them, because Breathitt hasn't played anyone on that level.
AverageJoesGym Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 An undefeated Breathitt County should be ranked ahead of a 1 loss Belfry team. Not like it matters, the playoffs will give them a chance to settle it on the field anyway.

I'm not trying to rank a favorite team over another team. I'm just stating what I think is right. Like I was saying above, Sider said, don't know if we COULD hold a loss against Belfry. Average said, Breathitt SHOULD be ranked #1. All I'm saying is I'm not going by coulds and shoulds. Again I'm just stating what I think is the right choice to be made. And thats only if Belfry gets beat, and Breathitt wins.
