I have known Spritzky for many years and I know that he would not bring anything but 100%. He does not believe in sandbagging, that's why he has been so successful since going to Dixie many years ago. I know that when he coached us at Highlands he demanded 100% and was a great assistant coach. Spritz has something to prove and will continue to do so until that trophy is resting in a nice new trophy case in their nice newly renovated school. PS, I love the new Colonel stadium, but hate that visitor's section. Spend all that money on a new stadium and then skimp on the visitor's seats, that seems like an invite for us to come sit in your home section next year.

It has something to do with the school building sitting a few feet directly behind them. They cannot meet or exceed the height of the building.

What are you talking about? The entire right side of the stands is visitor. I do agree that Highlands stands are unsatisfactory for the level of their success. I am still hanging on to the pipe dream that they will build a bowl stadium down in Death Valley. If they did that, then they could add on to the back of the school.

I am a larger than average fellow and so are many other fans, it was just very uncomfortable spacing of rows, seats etc. Plus, when you get stuck behind those people that bring those folding chairs that take up lots of space(my parents) it makes it even tougher.

What are you talking about? The entire right side of the stands is visitor. I do agree that Highlands stands are unsatisfactory for the level of their success. We Dixie football parents weren't too pleased either with the visitor side of our stadium. I'm pretty sure the present visitor stands were not supposed to be as such in the original plan. But, as we all know, money became an issue and I guess the "powers that be" did what they could with what they had left. Our softball and baseball fields still are not completely finished and we're still waiting on tennis courts. I too have a problem with people who bring the "folding backs", noone can sit behind those folks.

 

I have always enjoyed watching football at Highlands, although I would agree there is a need for some updating but heck, everyone knows that and I'm sure if they had the extra funds it would have been done. I've never experienced a problem as a parent while attending games at HHS. However, as a player many many moons ago.......let's just say some people's school spirit was a little more spirited than others.
