It will be interesting to see if Dixie goes all out for the entire game or do they rest any starters a bit because of this game being meaningless to them.

 

I didn't want to be the first to say this and get ripped again. :lol: I wish Spritzky would, but for some reason I just don't see it happening. He had the opportunity to do it last week, and didn't until a minute left in the game.

 

 

As for Dixie playing their best football, they're at least playing their best football for the year. Is it the best they can play, probably not, but they're playing very solid right now. They're executing on offense, staying with their assignments on defense, and they're tackling.

I disagree. I think Dixie feels that they have something to prove and will try. I do, however, think that the Camels will be too much for them. I am wondering, will Camels move up some of those fantastic frosh from this year???????????? Any Camel fans able to comment on that?

I am going to say no. I know the 2 QBs have dressed all year and that is about it. Most of the freshman basketball team (which haven't tried out yet) are on the freshman football team.

Thats a shame. I know that there is some good talent on that team and they need to be recruited by football to come up to varsity and get a taste of it now before they go off and play another sport that may change their mind on future football. I know that Camel athletes play multiple sports and some of their best football players don't even play due to basketball, baseball, or wrestling.

 

See, Highlands stresses the importance of football year 'round. Not that I agree with only letting them do track in the offseason, but they stress to the players that football is 1st on their priority list. Some of the players may do another sport but it is encouraged to do weights, track, and spring football. I think that other schools just don't put enough emphasis on football being a year 'round sport. I also think that if Campbell Co did not have Wrestling, they would have a HUGE football team and could become a 6A powerhouse.

I got it, just was one that i haven't heard yet. I try to be careful about what I put on here since I got in trouble in the first night I signed up last year. I learned my lesson for being dumb, it was my fault.

Yes, but Dixie was able to tackle, make the right throws, stay with their assignments, catch the ball, etc. For the most part, they were pretty consistent in that game, which previous weeks (ala Holmes) they were not.

I have known Spritzky for many years and I know that he would not bring anything but 100%. He does not believe in sandbagging, that's why he has been so successful since going to Dixie many years ago. I know that when he coached us at Highlands he demanded 100% and was a great assistant coach. Spritz has something to prove and will continue to do so until that trophy is resting in a nice new trophy case in their nice newly renovated school. PS, I love the new Colonel stadium, but hate that visitor's section. Spend all that money on a new stadium and then skimp on the visitor's seats, that seems like an invite for us to come sit in your home section next year.
