Finally! The voice of reason! The above is why I do not think any of the coaches listed would get the job, I also do not think Jay Cobb would be a canidate either, but I do think Tuck Woolum might be interested and it might be a good fit.

I really think you are kinda just guessing, because anyone that has followed football knows that this man has not been successful at the two schools that he was the head coach at. Now he does have an awesome offensive football mind but getting the players to buy in to what your preaching is a whole different story. :lol::lol::lol:

I have to agree, this is out of control. I know that Tuck and the Saylor's at the central office know each other very well, but this would be a mistake. I don't see how you can say that JB Donahue and Hensley are not good enough for the job but Tuck is?

Let me put all rumors and worries to rest. JB Donahue, David Hensley and Tuck Woolum WILL NOT BE even considered as the new coach at Harlan County High School. I am not saying that they are bad or good coaches, I am just simply saying that neither of the three will be the coach for the Black Bears.

I could see Mike Whitaker making another move and coming closer to home. He is a great coach and had success at Leslie, Corbin, and Christian County. I see Harlan County being a better fit than Powell County.

I'm not guessing anything, if you will read my post, I said he MIGHT be interested and that he MIGHT be a good fit. I in no way said he was definately going there and I in no way said he was the best or only person for the position. You guys need to chil on this issue, because there is every possiblity that the school won't even be ready to open on time, then what? (Based on finishing the construction)

The school is WAY ahead of schedule. It will be open in April.

How will Cawood match up this week against Somerset?

Pineville was terrible when Tuck Woolum coached. Sometimes great players aren't great coaches.

Bellco93, I am assuming that Doodle Woolum is Mark? If so, I have heard that name thrown around here in Harlan but I haven't heard anything for sure. I am not too familiar with Mark but it is not like I matter in the decision process, I am just a jake leg wondering the same thing everybody else is.

 

Is Mark a head coach? What school is he at in Florida?

What about Tom Larkey ? Doesn't he have ties with people from Cawood?

With what Larkey has done at the ROCK, he would be a great one BUT HE IS NOT INTERESTED. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. I KNOW THIS ONE FOR SURE.

Sorry Hound82...I dont think he would be a good fit at HCHS....The last couple of years where ever he has been they havent won any games... At HCHS they are looking for somebody 2 come in with some win's to get them started on the right track..

Blackbears, trust me on this one, new schools are NEVER on schedule. I saw the new school the first of October, it has a LONG WAY to go. I'm not trying to be negative, but they will be very lucky to get in at the start of next year.

I am seeing this talk of Mark/Doodle Woolum, but no one seems to know anything of his credentials other than he is coaching at a good football program in Florida and that his family has a close relationship with Tim Saylor. So, is he a head coach or not and has he ever been a head coach? If he is not a head coach and has never been a head coach then what has he done to make you believe he could seriously be considered for this high profile, very important job at a brand new 50 million dollar consolidated high school. I would like to believe that this new school would be able to attract a well known established head coach with a winning track record.
