Anyone got any stats on this one? I just know the other thread was locked for some reason, so I was just curious what the stats were.

I have none right now. Maybe LC99 has them.

Still no word on severity of Roskoph's injury.

Mitchell had a good game for us and the backs (Wagner/Steele) had decent showings. Too many mistakes led to too many points. Short field for W'burg's 1st 2 scores on botched punts doomed us early. Turnovers. Plain and simple, killed us. You can't keep giving the ball to a potent offense and trying to play catch up against the clock.

 

Jacket receivers made some good plays at the right time. D was a little weak both ways.

Hopefully Roskoph will be alright, what schools were looking at him?

Wow, what a game! Say what you want, but this was the best game the Jacket D has played. Both teams are young and play alot of kids both ways, and with such potent offenses points were going to be scored. The off week was brilliant scheduling as all 3 of the Moses boys were able to heal a bit. Phillips and Hughlett looked better at ILB, and the coaches came up with a nice game plan on both sides of the ball. The nicest thing I saw was the Jackets were very physical in this game....there were a ton of licks on both team's part, but I think if one was honest the Jackets wanted this one bad and outhit the Campers....somebody had to cause those fumbles, they didn't just fall out on their own. The dark spot on the night was Rosskopf's injury. Hope its not too serious, and that rehab will do the trick. He's an excellent HS player. Best of luck to both teams as the playoffs near. As for the Jackets, all year I've heard "We Believe"...I think you finally do.

I heard Roskopfs injury was an ACL again. I hope he can bounce back and still get on to play college ball. He is a fine player and great kid.

There were some good hits by the Jackets and they did get physical, but most of the fumbles WERE just drops. Bad snaps, not tucking the ball on exchanges, 2 horrible punt attempts, and the turn and drop of the INT late. Mental mistakes more than Physical punishment.

No stats from my end. There were a lot of mistakes made in this game, but to Williamsburg's credit they cashed in on them, and they also had 3 ints themselves to recover from. I thought Williamsburg physical whipped us upfront, and controlled the line of scrimmage. I don't want to make excuses, but the game did change big time when Roskopf went out. LC had stopped Williamsburg on there first drive, then got a 70 yard td run by Sidney Wagner, went up 6 to 0. LC then forced Williamsburg to punt again, and the first play on the second series is where Joe went down. The rest of that series resulted in penalties, and a bad snap on the punt gave the ball to the jackets inside the 20. Lynn Camp on the next series still mentally not in game after Joe went down, Jackets force a 3 and out, and another bad snap, inside the 20, jackets easy td again, and just like that LC was down 14 to 6. Sidney Wagner also got hurt on the same series as Joe, he played through the injury but was not the same the rest of the night mainly on offense. You got to give credit to Williamsburg they took care of business and deserved the win. I hope these two get to have a rematch in the second round, it should another great game. Hopefully Joe will be back and its not an acl tear.

As far as where this defense was earlier, you have to remember only 2 starters on d played signifigantly on d last year. Youth takes time to learn and mature. The great thing is that this is something to build on!

If it is not good news, could be a interesting 2 weeks against M'boro and Hazard....

No matter what the outcome is with Joe (hope its good) the rest of players need to step it up, they can still have a very good season. Who gets home field now?

Won't be able to tell that for sure until the season is over because it will go to the tiebreaker. If someone sits down and does all the possible scenarios you might be able to get an idea, but for now it is hard to tell. If LC were to win out the wins over Hazard and Middlesboro I would think would give them a big advantage, but if they don't get either one of those it will be a very close race between all three. Right now it looks like Williamsburg biggest win in the tiebreaker will be Bath County which right now is worth 6 points, for Lynn Camp it would be Cumberland worth 6 points, and for Campbellsville it would be Williamsburg worth 4 points. So LC definatly controls their own destiny if they can beat Hazard and Middlesboro, if they don't though looks like Williamsburg has the 1 sede. But again I didn't do all the math so I could be wrong.
