2007/2008 University Heights

Featured Replies

What does University Heights need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I don't keep up with Western Kentucky schools very much, but I know UHA has the Hopson kid who signed with Mississippi State. Is he a one man team, or does he have some help?

Tyshawn Edmondson, is a very talented player on this team also. I knew Hopson verballed to Miss. St., but not sure if he signed.

Who does Edmonson have offers from at this time? He may be the sleeper or surpise of the state to many. A very good player

It will be interesting to see if the new coach can bring some change to the program. It was absolutely awful watching them play last season. A team that talented who could basically beat no one.

Only saw them play a couple games at the "A" last year, but I was very impressed with Edmundson. Another great UHA athlete, but one who played good basketball as well. Hopson gets all the ink, and I've heard he played well on the summer circuit; but Edmundson seemed the more polished "basketball player" in the games I saw. When Brossart's "D" totally shut down Hopson & Langhi in the "A" semis, Tyshawn kept them in the game for quite a while. Is Langhi back or was he a senior? I'd expect that UHA, along with Bardstown, June Buchanan and maybe Elliott County will be the favorites in the All "A" this year??

Langhi graduated. Hopson and Edmondson remain at UHA. Hopson is expected to sign with Mississippi State in November. Edmondson is getting some Division I offers, but may wait until spring to sign.

With new coach Randy McCoy on board, I suspect that Hopson will be pushed more in practice than he has been in the past. If he comes ready to play every night, UHA could be the favorite to win the All A Classic. They also have a good shot to make it to the Sweet 16.

Has UHA corrected their chemistry problemns? They underachieved last year by all accounts.

I don't know that chemistry was an issue, at least on the court ... the primary problem was Hopson didn't play hard a great deal of the time. Other than Hopson and Edmondson, this isn't an exceptionally talented team.

They are, as usual, loaded with talent. The question will be if the players adjust to the new coaching staff. If they do, look for them to make a run at the All "A" title and Rupp Arena.
