Well said. There have been times when I believe that the Tomcats have been under-ranked because of the paper's eagerness to avoid the appearance of an Ashland bias. I think they do an excellent job covering the local teams. If circulation influenced rankings, Paintsville would never had gotten a whiff of the top 7 and JC would never have made it to the top.

 

You are kidding, aren't you? I think the whole problem could be resolved by dropping "Super" from the heading. Teams who are 1-6 are certainly not "super" by anyone's definition and excuses from partisans about "hard schedules" are just excuses.

No its NOT! Papers don't make that much money on individual paper sales. True a paper must sell but, advertisements are what make the bank for news papers.

I'm one who is tried of hearing this worn out line. IMO the news paper here in Ashland does a good job of covering all the high schools in the area. Point is that sales have nothing to do with any ranking IMO.
