From what I've been told Calloway QB Brockman has really progressed and has not been throwing as many INT's as of late. I am really interested to see how the Lakers fare tonight at War Memorial!

Yeah, they held Rump out last week against Fulton County, he wasn't needed at all. I too would rather have logan out of this game defensively if possible. I wasn't sure about Brockman, just heard about the 10 INT's, but someone told me that 4 of those were in game 1, where he was just starting as a QB.

Brockman threw two interceptions against Lone Oak, best I recall. He's a good passer and could be the second-best passing QB in the area, behind Corey Robinson. He's mobile enough to put pressure on the defense and he's pretty accurate.

I live in Murray and the local CCHS channel plays highlights from their games.....he is pretty quick and accurate......and the fact that he threw 4 of the 10 picks in the first game really doesn't make that 10 look so bad......nonetheless, I can't make the game so I will be anxious to check the score later on tonight.......The excitement grows as each week goes by and things start to unfold. I can't wait to see who does what in the playoffs, especially in 2A, 4A, and 6A because those are the tightest races!!

We all know that Mayfield is going to try to establish the run and we know that Calloway held Williams from Marshall to like 80 something yards. One difference is that Mayfield has 3 or 4 good backs, will Calloway be able to contain them all?

I had someone look up stats from the Marshall-Calloway game.

 

Williams had 15 carries for 82 yards against Calloway, 5.5 per carry. Walker had 7 carries for 54 yards. Williams and Walker combined for 9 catches for 83 yards.

 

Marshall threw the ball as much as they ran it that night, and Barga was fairly effective, too.

So you are saying that Calloway's defense has some holes huh? I saw the 82 yards from Williams and thought that he was being held pretty good, didn't know that Marshall was mixing it up pretty good, I didn't think Marshall was much of a passing team this year.

Marshall had more yards in the air than they did on the ground.

I suspect Calloway will key on the running game a bit more than they could against Marshall ... we'll see.

No online radio on the Mayfield end...the station that use to do it was sold during the offseason and they opted to do Ballard Memorial's broadcast where the station is based out of. :mad:

 

I didn't really realize that Mayfield starts a JR, 2-SOPH, and 1-FR in the denfensive backfield...they all seem older than that. Looks like a great night for football!!!

Yeah, I miss Coach Leahy and Dave Rowton, that did a really good job. I believe Coach Leahy and his wife have both had health issues.
