It is my understanding that Raceland does not have a strong JV or middle school team. Can someone advise?

I have been told by a Raceland parent they have some lean years ahead of them.

Raceland's JV is, as normal, made up of mostly freshmen, many of the sophomores are receiving considerable playing time on the varsity. Raceland's Jr high has low numbers, this years 7th and 8th grades have had low numbers all the way threw school, at Raceland we have classes like this every so many years. Raceland's varsity is very young, we only have 3 seniors starting, and the rest are juniors and sophomores. Raceland's 5th and 6th grades have high numbers and quality athletes.

 

I am not arguing with you, as you were told Raceland was going to have some lean years ahead, but I would submit that you were given some, not so good information. Raceland will be as they normally are after next year; young and hopefully mature fast. When this years jr high are juniors and seniors, there will be a lot of sophomores playing varsity, and the JV will not win many games because the sophomores are playing varsity.

With the above being said, I do know that Ashland has very strong 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, I have watched them play through JFL and they are very good.

 

On the Rose Hill subject, they are very good as well, I watched most of them play in Ashland's JFL. Rose Hill's 7th and 8th grades are good, I don't know what will happen when they get in High School, but they are good.

Sounds good to me. In my opinion they shouldn't be welcomed back anyway.

 

Im just floored by this remark,I know of few Tomcat fans that feel this way.

And as far as football positions are concerned they will be earned on the football field, Johnson a 9th grader has stepped up and getting quality experence on the JV team .

(IMO)The Tomcats can shake things up next year and if this years team wants it bad enough can still be in the hunt this year:thumb: Again great play and game by Tomcat JV team.

I was told by Verity's 7th grade coach that Rose Hill wanted to play 8th grades in the 7th grade game, and that Verity told them that they wouldn't allow that. I honestly don't know if that would be legal to begin with.

Not true, RH has 5-7th graders who start for the 8th grade and obviously also play 7th. The 7th grade has enough to play 7th graders and some 6th graders as well. And I get that from a very reliable source.
