It is my understanding that Raceland does not have a strong JV or middle school team. Can someone advise?

I would be surprised if Ashland gets much of the windfall.

 

Sounds good to me. In my opinion they shouldn't be welcomed back anyway.

Chris looked very poised and lead the team without missing a beat.I was very impressed with him at the QB spot.I didnt get to watch whole game it was 18-0 when i got there ,but he threw a TD pass.With his size i think he will grow into a very good QB.

The JV team did some text book blocking and play,looks good for the future.:thumb::

 

He looked pretty good. Chris will most likely play another position, with him being sandwiched between Drew Royaly (10th grade) and QB of the future Sam Hunter (8th grade).

You sort of opened the door to the mention of other teams. Ashland's middle school has been dominated by RH for two years in a row. How many other games has Ashland's JV won and who have they beat?

 

I know that you desperately want everything to be about RH, but its just not. You bring them up in this thread and this has nothing to do with their middle school "football program". Its nice to talk about middle school football, but it basically means NOTHING when you have NO HIGH SCHOOL TEAM. :thumb:

To be honest, from the families I know, I would suggest that they would never consider returning to the Ashland system. Strange as it may sound to you, Ashland needs them but they don't need Ashland.

I could be wrong but it looks like to me the same few people hijack every thread . It would be great to start a new forum for people who don't play well with others. What really is sad the players act more mature than most of the parents who post on here.

Sounds good to me. It honestly makes no difference to me whether anyone else agrees with my opinion or not. People can move their kids wherever they want, but they just need to be prepared to lie in the bed they have made, for themselves and their children.

You admit BC has little talent coming up, and I have been told by a Raceland parent they have some lean years ahead of them. These are the two teams Ashland JV has beaten. So what is the future going to be like for Ashland? I really mean no disrespect.

The talent from 9th-7th grade is VERY good. There are several very good athletes from each grade. This 7th grade group includes several members of the Hager Elementary basketball team that won 53 straight basketball games over 2 seasons. Add these groups to a nice sophmore class that includes RB Rashard Carter, Drew Royalty QB, and FB Josh Alber. The Tomcats could be very dangerous in 2 years.

I agree completely. It is certainly understandable that partisans view their favorites in a more positive way than would someone else who is not necessarily tied to that team. That is merely being a "fan" which, of course comes from "fanatic".

 

I would be the first to salute that Hager team that won all of those consecutive games against the other Ashland elementary schools and Holy Family. I am a proud "graduate" of Hager.

I haven’t heard anything about Rose Hill football this year – but, they were very good last year and I heard the same thing as you regarding the Ashland/RH match-up. I don’t know anything about scheduling issues – so I won’t comment.

 

I think it will be interesting to see if RH continues to support their football program all the way through high school as these boys get older – or if the boys transfer to public school to play football. Some school may get a gift in the form of a quality transfer.

 

Sure would be nice to have some quality gifts,the football circle i travel in are team players .
