East Carter by 2 tds. They are big and physical, power football, too much Mav White and Carroll.

East by 2 TD's. Good defense and superior skill position players.

I think we will see East put up alot more points than we have so far this season, and the defense will continue to be stiff.

I wouldn't go that far....I bet West Carter will put up a fight. You can never count out a heated rival as West is to East. West by a touchdown.

I like Kevin Brown alot an I know he is happy at West but I wish he was given a chance at a winning program.

Interesting that both Carter County schools had open dates last week and are on fall break this Th and Fr and yet the game is still on Fr. I wonder why they didn't play last Friday so both schools could enjoy fall break? I wonder why they didn't move the game to Thursday?

 

Sounds like both teams wanted all the time they could get to heal up from playing Russell and Mason and then get ready for each other. Probably a good move for both teams but it will definitely hurt the gate $$$ for West Carter's football coffers. WC doesn't need the money I am sure with all their famous alumni (like farawaycomet)who regularly contribute large sums of money to the football program.

 

Look for a low scoring close game with East on the winning end.

East and West has always been one for the ages. There is so much pride on the line and of course the "BARRELL". I have fond memories of the days when I was in school. We looked and longed for this game. You could cut the tension with a knife. You will never see as many of our fine police force at any game like you will at this one. They definitely will earn their pay this night. The officials will too. Both teams could be 0-9 and they would bring the heat as if they were both unbeaten.

 

It's going to be a doosie in Carter County come Friday night. At approximately 7:30 all pandimonium will break loose in Olive Hill..... It will look like you have taken two tomcats tails, tied them together and thrown them over a clothesline...... Whew doggies it's going to be a brawl.

When I started at Morehead in 1973, I was from out-of-state (Maryland). When asked where I was from, I usually said, "I'm from just outside of Baltimore, Maryland".

 

When I asked folks where they were from, they would nearly always give me a county - Johnson County, Pike County, Knott County.

 

The exception - people from Carter County were either from Grayson or Olive Hill.
