Bellevue 35 Ludlow 21

Featured Replies

Glad your ok Future coach, we were worried about you.

I agree that Turnovers will kill you and turn momentum but they are part of the game and to be honest, any team that travels to play Ludlow needs atleast 2 turnovers to stay in the game.

Rouse had pretty good numbers if you take out the INT's, he better ice the elbow today.

Bellevue sounds like also had a consistent running game with Buckler and Barrett combining for over 135 yrds on the ground on 20+ carries. That is about 6 or 7 yrds a pop so give em credit for establishing the run.

I like the Buckler kid stepping up as a sophomore.

Also pretty impressed with the Logan kid snagging 12 catches.

Should be a good district overall and I do also agree that I think Bellevue and Ludlow will get the Greendevils this year.

Rouse did have pretty good numbers, but it actually definitely was not his sharpest game. One of the passes he usually throws the best is the deep pass, because he is usually right on the money on that, and atleast 5 or 6 times the Ludlow guys beat Bellevue deep but he just ended up barely overleading them..Rouse IMO is one of the more underrated players in the region because he is a very good QB, and I think it shows by his numbers last night, even though it wasn't his sharpest game ever.

As for the Bellevue running game in the second half they did a VERY GOOD job running with it. However in the first half Ludlow held Bellevue offense to a total of 20 yards, and was doing good. But because of the mistakes Ludlow had that made that big 28 point swing as I said. It allowed Bellevue to play their game and just keep pounding the ball, and it eventually I believe wore Ludlow defense out, because the tackles Ludlow was making earlier in the game, was starting to become arm tackled and you cant do that with those backs because they are good runningbacks. Those mistakes Ludlow made just completely changed how the game was played. I mean Bellevue is a good team, and with a good defense who is already good at creating turnovers already. So you definitely cant just give them turnovers on top of that by fumbling pitches, dropping passes, etc.

I must say it was a very frustrating game for me to watch, because Ludlow as everyone saw does have a good offense with aot of playmakers, and when they weren't making mistakes on their own, they were able to drive the ball all night long for the most part..But as you said mistakes is part of football and Bellevue made less and thats why they won. Thats what it is going to come down to with all the games between the 3 river schools is who makes the least mistakes...:thumb:

1. It was an option pitch and Bellevue had both the QB and RB covered. \

2. Both receivers totally covered. QB should not have thrown the ball at all. There was no one to "loft" the ball to. He was covered.

3. Obvious clip on the cover man about 5 feet from the returner.

4. Ludlow receiver could have caught the ball but didn't. The Bellevue DB responded exactly as he should have. It is called tip drill.

Ludlow has a good team, especially at the skill positions. They are well coached and they played a good game. Bellevue seemed a little flat to begin the game, but controlled the game from the last part of the first half to the end. Ludlow had -16 yards rushing. Give Bellevue the credit they deserve and stop saying Ludlow "killed" themselves. By saying that you are not giving the credit where it should go -- to the Bellevue Tigers! "Can you beat that BLACK and GOLD? Hell NO!"

1. The runningback was not covered on it, and just simply dropped the pitch. Bellevue did nothing to cause that. However the guy did a good job of running and jumping on the ball for Bellevue

2. Receiver at the back of the endzone was open, and is a foot taller than the guy who was way in front of him. Throw it high and its a touchdown

3. There was no clip on the play, they called a hold on it. And it was on the opposite side of the field away from where Grant logan was returning it to. I nto saying it wasn't a hold because on the field you can see it was. It was just another dumb stupid mistake on Ludlow

4. Yeah he should have caught it, and has one of the hands on the team and usually never drops anything. So as I said that was another mistake Ludlow had that they usually dont do.

I have gave credit to Bellevue for taking advantage of those turnovers. My point was that Bellevue didn't cause any of those turnovers, or the big plays that happened. It was the Ludlow mistakes that did it not Bellevue doing it, and Bellevue took advantage of it like they were suppose to. You cant have mistakes like Ludlow had and still win the game...

As for your last quote I really enjoyed it. And as I said before I think you better really hope Ludlow does not beat Dayton. Because you much rather play Dayton in the playoffs, because you definitely dont want to see Ludlow again in the playoffs I guarntee that...

Futurecoach, now we both have losses that we feel should have been victories. ;)

Yours was not in district play and does not mean nearly as much...However I do have a favor to ask. You all at Trimble just needs to keep winning, because Trimble could end up being Ludlows best friend, with how the tiebreaker goes if this district ends up in a 3 way tie, which is very possible...:thumb:

Thank you! :thumb:

Future coach, didn't you predict a Bellevue loss?

Yes I did! I also said whoever made the least mistakes would win the game, I just didn't think Ludlow would make the mistakes that they did, and that is why I picked them. The mistakes that Ludlow had were just really weird becasue the mistakes that Ludlow had came from players that usually NEVER make those mistakes. But it was just one of those days, and Bellevue didn't make the mistakes and that is football...

Did you watch the game last night? Cause if you did I do have a question. Who would you rather see in the playoffs Ludlow or Dayton. Because I think from what we seen last night that you would not want to see Ludlow again in the playoffs, I think you might even know that...

I just know that I really do hope we get to see a rematch of this Ludlow vs. Bellevue game in the playoffs. Because the games are always exciting during the season, so I cant imagine how exciting it would be for a playoff game between the two teams...:thumb:

IMO I think that no matter how this game came out that Bellevue would want the Panthers again in the playoffs, simply becuase Bellevue vs Dayton rivalry is always one of the best in Northern Kentucky Football. Yes Ludlow would be fired up, but I am sure that the Tigers would want the Panthers instead of the Devils

I will say the Bellevue vs. Dayton rivalry is a little more bigger of a rivalry just because of how close they are. However its not by much, just all three are big rivals of each other...

I dont think they would want to see Ludlow again though, because they do not matchup as well with Ludlow as they would against Dayton. Dayton runs pretty much the same type offense as Ludlow, but has to be more of a runningteam with it, and Bellevue run defense is very good and I wouldn't expect the offense to do much on that defense. While Ludlow who also has a good run game, but also a very good passing game, with people who can do stuff after they make the catch. Bellevue found that out last night. The defense for Bellevue is definitely their strenght, however the offense for Ludlow creates alot of problems for them. With Dayton I think they could shut down that offense, and still put up some points on them. Ludlow is a harder matchup for them, and also will have a Ludlow team that would know that their own mistakes killed them the first time and would be looking to revenge that...Just IMO Bellevue would be better off seeing Dayton in the playoffs, and would rather not see Ludlow again...

I'll second that!!

They all mean alot to the kids, that why they work so hard.

How does Bellevue not match up well against Ludlow? Didn't the tigers hold them to negative 16 yards rushing?

How does Bellevue not match up well against Ludlow? Didn't the tigers hold them to negative 16 yards rushing?

How many times did Ludlow even try to run in the game? And how many passing yards did Ludlow have in the game. Ludlow had no reason to really run much when the passing game was pretty much there all night long. Was you there? Because if you was I sure you saw how Ludlow has ALOT of playmakers at the receiver position that does cause problems for the Bellevue secondary..Bellevue defense is the strength of the team, and with Ludlow offense and the playmakers they do cause problems for them. However with Dayton who runs the same offense, they really dont have much passing at all, and just can run. But you all have a good run defense. So not hard to figure out which one is the better matchup for Bellevue...You saw the same game I did and how Ludlow really hurt them ownselves without Bellevue really doing anything to cause it on those turnovers and other plays. If you was at the game you saw all this, and I think should understand what I am saying here...
