September 1, 200719 yr A slow start is to be expected with what they had to replace from last year. Appy made some huge plays early, but the D tightened after the half. That's why you play the game... Yeah if it was a against an actual team that isn't in the small school division or whatever it is called now, then I could see the defense having trouble to start. But not to get torn up in a half like they did to "Appy State" The defense in the second half showed how they can play, and actually are playing hard. But they didn't do that in the 1st half and it put their team in a position to lose this game against a team that has no business staying with a top 10 team. The defense put them in position to lose this game, so sorry I dont think they should get the credit IF Michigan wins, just because they finally decided to stop "Appy State"

Doesn't excuse the performance but they have a ton of talent on the field...
September 1, 200719 yr Probably fear of screwing up and not getting it off. I know but still UM still has a timeout dont they? And since college the clock stops for first downs. They have plenty of time to go down there to kick a field goal... I would have ran one more play like a sneak, and either make UM take their last timeout. Or if not you still had plenty of time to get field goal team on field...
