They think it was a pinched nerve. He's a tough kid, and should be back in action next week :thumb:

Glad to hear Cox is going to be OK. You hate to see any kid get hurt and placed in an ambulance on the field. I agree that they need to find a way to protect him better. It seemed he was pressured all night long... I know #88, David Henson, from Gallatin had 4 sacks on him and other kids had a few more.

Great game, Gallatin offense finally started moving the ball in the second half. Owen is no where near the same team with new coaching staff. If any one has updates on Jordan Cox please keep us updated.

The talent is there for Owen. They have some awesome atheletes.

The defense did a great job in the first half. They were out there to long. #22 needs to be running the ball and # 1 needs to be a reciever. You got to score when your inside the 5 yd. line only if it's only 3 pts. The momentum would have stayed with Owen Co. going into the second half. Just my opinion

Totally agree with you 20ROOK. Even if its 3 points you gotta put points on the board. #1 has 5 picks in 2 games? Not bad numbers. If he keeps that up and teams keep throwing his way it could mean big things for him. It sounds and looked friday night like he was an athlete (#1 that is). OC should utilize him on more than just defense it seems but no more than they throw the ball, or attempt to throw it, why would you want to put that talent at WR when they can even get a pass off?

Not a lot of holes to run through. He save Cox from taking more shots than he should have. At times Gallatin got through the line as soon as the ball was snapped.

Good to hear that it isn't anything serious with the Cox kid. I agree 20 ROOK the kid needs some protection back there. Who is #1 for OC? He played a pretty good game desfensively with 2 picks. And OlBallCoach, what do you mean by OC is no where near the same team with the new coaching staff?

I did not see the same intensity we saw last year, more arm tackling, very bland predictable offense. Owen has some good talent to work with. Being a former Rebel from decades ago I would still like to see the program be successful, except for the second week of the season. From what I have seen and heard, IMO the program has taken yet another a step back. Until the admin. and parents get behind that program completly and bring in a top notch coach Owen well never be what it was in the late 70's early 80's. There are to many people with their own agenda's for it to take off. I played for Coach Roy Cochran, who ran every part of the program and made it a success. This is just my thoughts, you may see things differntly and thats ok, most important thing today is, Cox kid is going to be ok, amen.

I agree with you there was some arm tackling goin on, but from what I watched of the game it seemed that took place once the defense got tired from being out there so much after OC's offense kept going 3 and out.

When you run an offense that is very predictable a good D-coach will shut you down, it happened to Gallatin at Owen last year, and by the way, it was the same D-coach. Gallatins kids were going both ways last night also, it comes down to conditioning at the end of the game.

OC was definitely fatigued and that equalled out to Gallatins scoring plays.

Was Gallatin not tired? Their defense was on the field for about 70% of the first half. Gallatin Co. out played them in every aspect of the game. Owens defense was good but to me it looked like the team that made the adjustments at half time would win the game, and the final was 29-0. Enough said.

We did mention him on the show this week. Glad to hear he is o.k. Sorry I missed this one.

No one ever said that Gallatin wasn't tired. They may have been but they didnt show it as much as Owen did. Plain and simple Gallatin was in better shape/condition than Owen and it showed. Yeah adjustments played part in this game but not to the degree that overall conditioning did. Good job to Gallatin's coaching staff for having their boys in shape.
