This win takes away from the Montgomery County victory. Maybe Clark just isn't very strong this season

Congrats to HC, there is a great season ahead of you.

With GRC, the talent is there! It looked like they haven't found the TEAM aspect of the season, several players seemed to be playing for themselves.

GRC has to believe in the team and trust each other. Even with the loss, there were improvements from the prior week, defense looked better....can't wait to see how you do next week. Great improvement takes time, not just one week. Hold your head up GRC, we believe in you!!!!!!!

As to the comment about "staff and their preparation", GIVE ME A BREAK! Know something about what you are saying before you post comments like that!

Gold Sunrise-It was nice to finally meet you, see you next week!

Great point about the defense Doodlebug. Despite losing Hisle #41 7 plays into the game there was some improvement in the line and linebackers. #38 Z. Hardiman played OLB in the first series and had a tackle, assist and a forced fumble (which Harrison recovered) but then the coaching staff took him out? I don't understand the reasoning behind that. He also had a great game on offense too. (Nice one-handed grab for the 1st down.....)

#79 Bubby Fox looked great too! But they still need to keep the pressure on in the secondary.

What do you mean by that??? Harrison is a top 10 4A school.

There were several key plays in the first quarter alone. Mason taking a 17 yard loss on the first play because he woudln't throw the ball (and there were two open recievers standing in the middle of the field and he had time to throw). #10 Clark with the fumble on the punt, and #17 Conners inability to run straight ahead. Paper said he had 107 yards rushing/21 attempts. If he would have ran straigh ahead on half of those plays he would have had 225 yards. Conners was an AWESOME free safety a couple years back. He seems much better suited to that position or maybe cornerback.

GRC has plenty of leaders on the field and in the locker room. But they cannot let the distraction of certain personalities to keep them from playing team football.

I believe in the program and these young men. The coaches must make moves that are best for the team, and not just certain players. I have watched these young men play football together since civitan. They have unlimited potential, and can bounce back. They have had several injuries and hopefully they reverse the direction they are going.

MNCM, you may have a point there, I also think #17 Conners would make a good strong safety, or cornerback:thumb: Last years running backs for GRC, killed in the red zone, they were deadly 40 yards out, GRC, O-Line will block for any kid that lines up and hit it. # I know #17, he is what you call a east west runner he reads blocks better from east to west thats way he is having problems running up the middle and reading key blocks. Next game I look for Conners to step it up with over a 170 yards and 2 TD's:thumb:

If GRC plays like they are capable of, GRC wins by atleast 1 or 2 tds. Come on guys, dig down deep, play together as a team and good things will happen. Maybe the homecoming festivities next week will bring about some new energy.:thumb:

ALWAYSLATE88. I hope so too! :thumb: I think he needs a great big bruising fullback to block for him too. They should try using #7 to lead for him, then let #17 follow him and hit the hole in the line hard!

 Harrison dominated from start to finish. I didn't want to say it, but comments like this are funny. Would have been 17-7 if Harrison had punted the ball. This game was never in doubt.

MNCM you must be mistaken to think that coaches would EVER make moves that are best for an individual rather than for the team. Conners may have been an "awesome" free safety a couple of years ago but I am sure there are reasons he is no longer at that positionyear. If memory serves correctly, Conners played cornerback last night and did not come off to stop the run. At safety last year against Tates Creek, Conners didn't make the big plays that he should have.

I do agree with you about not letting personalities get in the way of the team! There may be leaders on the field and in the locker room but they have yet to step up and the time is NOW. Come on GRC, play as one.

Doodlebug, I should clarify that comment (I don't think it came across as intended in that last post: Another reason why it is so hard to communicate in the electronic world).

I was referring more to movement of a player/s that might want to play a specific position to a different position for the good of the team. NOT singling out players for special treatment above others or the good of the team. I hope that gives a clearer statement of what I was trying to say............... (if not please PM me...........)

I don't remember seeing #17 playing any defense last night. But in regards to his past defensive play, that was for the 2005 season when he was a sophomore. I believe he only played two games last year (Tates Creek and PSW).

I personally agree, Harrison did dominate this game. But I don't see whats so funny. I said if GRC played like they were capable then GRC SHOULD have won this game. I believe they had more talent than Harrison and it just did not show. This is my opinion. GRC hasnt played like they are capable of yet this season. Plain and simple though, Harrison came to play while GRC didn't. We still believe in you Cards, these last two losses don't mean a thing to the season in terms of the divisions.:thumb:

gold sunrise, did you read the Winchester Sun today?

"We came out flat"...quotes from Coach Columbia...second straight week. Sounds like he is blaming the kids. Bottom line he and his staff are compensated fairly well to coach these kids and motivate them to play football. Came out flat against a rival...ridiculous...then to do it after losing to your rival...unforgiveable?

There are issues on that staff, maybe if all the coaches would come to practice everyday and give great effort the kids would be more motivated. If the staff is lax, then the players are going to see right through them and come out lax.

I think their "flat" performance through the first two games is quite indicative that their are some serious coaching issues at GRC.

Have you been to either GRC game this year? Are you here to know if certain coaches are not at practice and if so the reason why?

letabrotherspeak...I have always respected you and your post, but this time we disagree... and I really don't apprecaite your negative talk about our coaches. I personally hate it when I see negative comments about any coach on here....I just don't feel this is the place to down another person under a code name.

GRC will regroup for our game against Tates Creek.

D-Bug..was so great to finally meet you too.:thumb: :thumb:

Agree to disagree....and I will leave it at that.

I have a relative who is a doctor in Winchester and loves the Cards. Get great info from her and my brother in law, who is a booster at the school, and played for Guy Strong.

Lastly, I just don't like when coaches come off as blaming players...and that is the impression I get. We were flat...we were flat...that is a coaching responsibility to get your teams ready to play. Don't blame the kids.

I saw Lloyd Carr take full responsibility in losing to Appy State...Coach Columbia should absorb a lot of it himself.

GRC is far better than their 0-2 record shows.
