Montgomery County 35 George Rogers Clark 34

Featured Replies

I would like to see the breakdown on the penalties. I seemed like Clark racked way more than M/C. (I was guessing it was 150 Clark/90 M/C)

M/C did come to play last night. Congrats to those guys!

The penalties were GRC 16-148 MC 13-144.

As for the game...it was great. Super atmosphere and hard fought on both sides. Caleb Curtis played great, along with Zach Stoub.

As for the "bumping" call...from where I was (up by MC's locker room) it looked like the GRC kid made a great defensive play, pushing Curtis down for the tackle. Curtis looked to be 5-6 yards from the player and he went to Caleb to make sure he knew who made the play. Contact or not, this will probably be called unsportsman-like conduct all year. Any way, that's not what decided the game. It was MC's fight that brought them back and gave them the victory.

John was an assistant coach here at GRC a few years back. Hate to hear this. He taught right across the hall from me.

If this is correct, you cant ask for much better than that.

The penalties were GRC 16-148 MC 13-144.

This does not show what the penalties were though. Like I said earlier i can recall atleast 5(there was probalby more than that) offsides/false against MC which are obvious. The penalties against GRC were unsportmanlike conduct, holding, pass interference, etc.(judgement calls).

If there were 5 penalties of 5 yards for Montgomery and they had 144 total penalty yards, then that still leaves 8 penalties for 119 yards. From these figures I would still think that Montgomery had their share of holding and personal foul penalties. I know Montgomery had two personal foul penalties.

They also had a personal foul face mask.

The penalties were GRC 16-148 MC 13-144.

Thanks for breaking down that info. I do remember there were offsetting personal fouls somewhere in the 3rd when M/C had the ball around there own 20.

I believe Clark had a ineligible reciever downfield that called a 20 yrd gain back. Room to improve for next week.

MCHS had a good showing for the first gme of the season and in the heat.
