Male 50 Fairdale 7

Featured Replies

No surprise, the down year is NEVER down far for Male.

The game wasn't really that close. Male was up 47-0 at the half.

Good night for the (Male) Bulldogs. They brought their A game. If I remember correctly, the score was 41-0 at the half. Defense played extremely well. Lots of knocked down passes by the DB's and Fairdale's quarterback was running for his life on many plays. Dexter Heyman (46) started a little slow, then really seemed to get after it. He scored at least one TD on a pass play. Male's kicker is outstanding--he put one punt inside the Fairdale 5 yd line from what seemed like his own 40. Male's QB (Logsdon) had all night to throw and scampered about 50 yards for their final touchdown--I was surprised how fast he is.

H appears to have reloaded and I think they'll have a solid team with decent balance by the playoffs. It's tough to say how good because I don't know how good Fairdale really is.

DeJuan Hobbs was on the sideline, but did not dress. He was not wearing a cast on his arm. :thumb:

Mayer Abramson and his wife were there (I think their son plays for Male) as well as new JCPS Superintendent, Sheldon Berman.

Like I said in the prediction thread, "I'll believe it when I see it." To reiterate ram2003's idea, a down year for Male is a heck of a good season for most teams. Male will be Male.

I guess Male got it together this week.

I challenge anyone to name the last "down" Male team that wasn't pretty dang good.

A few other comments.

First, Fairdale dedicates some stadium renovations this season (new aluminum stands, new synthetic track surface, and maybe a new structure or two). Their facility is really nice and the field looked great. The sound system is the best I've heard (they played music during lulls in the action).

Second, Male has new uniforms, retiring the ones they first wore in the 2003 or 2004 season. They are black over black  with purple and gold pinstriping used sparingly and white numbers. I guess everyone's getting into the black uniform game. They looked good, don't get me wrong, but as a longtime Male fan used to seeing white visitors' uniforms, black seems a little weird to me. At least they still wear the gold helmets!

Mayor Jerry's son played last year as a freshman.

I missed the game and was looking forward to it.

There is still a lot of kids who have experince.

Nice to see Justin Green back and would love to see him in the open field.

It was 47-0 at the half. Male kicked a FG on their 1st possesion of the 2nd half to make it 50-0. Fairdale finally scored when Male put the reserves in. If the score would've been 41-0, there wouldn't have been a running clock to start the 2nd half.

Faidale look really bad in this game they went down big early and never recovered. They could not get there offense going at all during the first half and there QB was running for his life most of the game. There QB hit the receivers in the hands on several passes but they could not haul in the passes. Its hard to tell if Fairdales that bad or Males that good.

On a side note Fairdale's stadium was really nice.

Good luck to Fairdale next Friday against Southern.
